So, I am going to be working on something over the coming week which is customizing news articles to your perspective from liberal to conservative. You can also customize entertainment articles which is not as critical. Although we all know you can do that already with TV news..but the news is supposed to be neutral, unbiased and impartial. I don't like the idea of just reading news that fits your bias..be it liberal or conservative. You shouldn't just read or watch what you want to read or hear. That just leads to further entrenchment in your position, and further lack of understanding of those who believe differently .what say you?

Newspapers are definitely showing bias when it comes to an issue. So do some TV networks. Have a good weekend.

@LindaOHio The local paper here is free online. I used to have some kind of abbreviated version of the Wash Post, but there was nothing in there much that interested me too much. I can see the headlines online, and the first half of any story I want elsewhere.

I agree. Once, you could trust newspapers to give an unbiased view but not any more.

I don't think you should just watch or listen to news that fits your viewpoint.

I read both liberal and conservative websites. I figure if I read both I can surmise the truth. Because none, and I mean none, are impartial.

They are supposed to be. Lately, I have noticed that some articles online allow you to rate as to whether you see the content as fair or unfair. I like that. However, journalistic integrity is a "thing." and for the most part I think mainstream media tries to get it right. If they appear biased I think it is because they are skilled at critical thinking..and try at least to avoid knee jerk reactions, but they are human like all of us

I totally agree. How will we know what our beliefs really are if we never hear an opposing point of view?

Yes, we shouldn't just sit in our own comfortable little bubble

i agree with you. it is literally that, censoring something and forcing your opinion on your readers. but, it is your task so it is not your fault; some strange company policy.
