Today I ordered five coffee mugs. My househelp is great at breaking them, but to be fair, in recent times, I broke one, and so did my father.
So it became an urgent need. Kinda, if we have guests, I should have those mugs, right?
They came neatly packed in cartons. The cartons are excellent. But...I hate to say it, I have no use of them. I hate throwing them away.
Why can't these companies use reusable type of packing? They could have collected back those cartons and used them for another client.
So this has been the thought of my day. What is on your mind?

You can always recycle them if that's an option. That's what I do with carboard and things I can't re-use.

Here, we get rice bags. Those get stuffed. Donation of the kind you all have is not welcome. At least, I have not come across any folks willing to accept donations like that. The other evening, I was returning and had a biscuit packet with me. There was a beggar sleeping under the shop's shelter. I went to him to give it. He said please give me money, not biscuit packet. With money I will buy tea tomorrow morning. Honestly, that confused me because giving money meant he might drink. I did give him enough for tea though.

@vandana7 I would worry about him drinking too instead of eating. He wasn't very hungry if he turned down food

@vandana7 The garbage company picks up selected items such as cardboard and paper and sells them to places that recycle them into something new. There is a dumpster for such items which also includes aluminum cans, glass bottles, and certain kinds of plastic. At least it used to. They pick up different items in some places. You see labels on things saying it is made of a certain percentage of recycled material.

Cardboard can be recycled here in the US. I also reuse boxes for donations, etc. Have a good day.

We have a recycling pickup so any unwanted cardboard goes in the recycling. I always keep at least on empty box on hand in case I need it.
