In Matthew 6:1, Jesus reminds us not to perform acts of kindness for others just to gain attention or praise from people. Instead, we should help others sincerely, without expecting anything in return, knowing that God sees our actions and will reward us accordingly. This teaches us that our intentions when helping others should be pure and genuine, driven by a desire to make a positive difference in their lives. When we help others selflessly, we are not only following God's commandments but also spreading kindness and love in the world around us.

That is good advice to not do it just to get attention.
