Oppenheimer was released in 2023 with a rating of R for sexuality, nudity and language. It is based on the real life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who is often referred to as the father of the atomic bomb. As for how much of this film is true to the real story, I would say it is hard to know for sure. Due to the nature of his classified work, it makes me wonder just how much of the story we can believe as truth and how much is the government releasing what they want. Oppenheimer has a full cast of stars, the main characters in the film are played by the likes of Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. Although you will recognize many more. Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) plays Oppenheimer. The film follows the life of Oppenheimer and the build up to the dropping of the bombs and the following 1954 Security hearings on Oppenheimer. If you have an interest in history, or World War II, I will say it’s a good film to watch. I’ll admit some of it confused me when talking about physics and such, but I still enjoyed the film. The film received high reviews for the screen play, cast performance and visuals. For me I agree, other than a few confusing parts of the film I would give it 4.75 out of 5 stars and would suggest it as a must see.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to see this movie or not but you make it sound interesting so I'll probably give it a try.

I saw it. I liked it, but they spent too much time on his back story and personal life. I would have been more interested if they would have shown more things the Japanese and Germans were working on or doing as a contrast..and more of the historical perspective. My rating would be 4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you for telling us about the movie. I haven't been to a movie theatre since the Doctor Doolittle with Eddie Murphy. I kept hearing the name Oppenheimer, but never really knew what it was about. I remember a couple of movies back in the day about how the Atomic bomb came to be and how it was tested..saw a movie about the Hydrogen Bomb and how it was deployed on Japan. My stepfather was stationed in Japan during the Korean war, and had pictures of some of the buildings still standing after the H-Bomb. Sure wish Oppenheimer had kept the bomb to himself..wished it had never been invented ever.

Yeah, I have not been to the movies, but I stream them online. Would have been good if they never were invented but man is always looking big and better ways to kill ourselves.
