We Three Are Friends

Last night I thought of counting my friends.
I know around five hundread people here;both men and women;by their names.We often talk to each other and crack jokes.Most of us were classmates either.
But are they my friends in true sense of the term??
Perhaps;no.We call each other friends;but actually are not.
Our so called friendship is only transactional.You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.
Finally my thoughts got stuck to a couple of persons who have always been with me in my bad and good times.We have been with each other when we did not have money;and also when we earned money.We can't live without each other.
I can say I have only two friends.
Having a single true friend is difficult.I'm fortunate to have two.

It's not the quantity that counts, it's the quality that matters most. Even if you only have one true friend that would be the greatest thing in this life.Yes, in this life it is hard to find a true friend who we could truly called a friend through thick and thin. Many will be acquaintances but rarely we can call true friends.

We three are childhood friends.Our choices are different.One of us comes from a humble family.I' belong to lower middle class and the third is a millionaire.Our interests are also different.Yet we are friend.We stand with each other in all thick and thin;though we expect anything from each other.I'm fortunate to have them as my friends.

I understood this very early in my life, so I restricted myself to very few people. I have just one good friend who is always with me, anytime. It's hard to find good friends these days. Most people have a list in their mind. They expect help from you but will hide when you ask the same of them.

You are right.Most of who I know are selfish people and I can't expect them to stand with me in my bad time.They are with me if and when I can serve their interests;otherwise they even refuse to recognize me.I know hundreads of people and my true friends are only two.
