Learning to Stand Tall

Sometimes in life, when things get tough and it feels like I'm falling down, I've learned that the best way to stand back up is by taking a moment to humble myself. There's this saying I heard that really stuck with me: "The best way to get back on your feet is to get down on your knees." At first, it sounded strange to me, but then I realized it's about being humble and asking for help when I need it. It's like admitting that I can't do everything on my own and being okay with that. When I'm open to learning from others or asking for advice, it actually makes me stronger. It's not about giving up or being weak. It's about finding strength in humility. By getting down on my knees metaphorically, I'm showing that I'm willing to learn, to listen, and to grow. It's a reminder that sometimes, the path to standing tall again starts with being willing to bend a little and seek support from those around me.

A lesson I am working on to be humble and grateful and not believe that I am some super person who can bowl video games and reach my goal of throwing strikes every frame.

I couldn't agree anymore. We need others. May what others think, is better than what we are think

I try my best to be as independent as possible but yes there are situations where I have to seek help but most unwillingly. I must change this attitude.

It also means you're willing to step out of the way and let Jesus do the heavy lifting. Have a blessed day.

And sometimes people who should offer support can't offer it. And they say that we should be able to help ourselves. But we don't have so much strength and we need others.

Absolutely, Diana. We all need support sometimes, and it's important to recognize that we can't always do everything alone.

My mother needs to learn this. When I had water problems, I told my mother that I was going to call my great-aunt who lives across the street. We have well water and I don't know much about well water. My great-aunt and great-uncle knows more about them because they have lived across the street for many years. (I own my uncle's house and moved in three years ago.) My mother fussed about me asking for help. In the end, I learned alot about the well and found out who their repair guy is.
