Kitty brought me a Western Fence Lizard to eat today.

Have you ever eaten Western Fence Lizard? We have them all over Coastal California. Kitty brings one to me fairly often. I pretend to eat them, but I do not. They do not look that tasty to me. I "pretend eat" them and them release them. Kitty is satisfied. At least I think she is. This morning he brought me a Western Fence Lizard and dropped it at my feet. I thanked her and reached for it, but it ran off. I think it wound up beneath my desk We searched together for a new minutes, but could not find it. I found three of the seven flashlights I have here, but all of them were dead. God works in mysterious ways. Finally we gave up. I opened my front door so the lizard could escape. Kitty is out looking for more now and I am working on the AR-3as. Have you ever dined on Western Fence Lizard? Have you even met a Western Fence Lizard? I will try to find a photo I took of one that jumped on my hand on a cool day.

I do not remember them from the Midwest. They are everywhere here. They are cute and harmless to humans.

They're pretty cute. And harmless to humans. I still don't know what they taste like.

I would not try to eat lizard. However, we get them all over the house. Chilly could care less. One got into our bedroom, and he just stared at it from across the room.

Kitty just watches the raccoons as they eat her food. But she likes to catch lizards, mice and birds.

We have lizards and they are very similar to yours. There are two that enjoy staying all the time on our balcony, they are safe from the cats there.

@TheHorse We call them in Italian here, simply "lucertole" (lézards in French and Eidechse in German). This is a photo of an adult lizard.

@LadyDuck The back markings are similar to our Western Fence Lizards. That's a long tail, by our standards! Probably "detachable," like our lizards' tails are.

I wonder what they are called there. Take a picture if you can. The one on my hand was a baby from a hike a couple of years ago.

Thanks. This little guy was from a hike with one of my teenage clients. Yesterday's lizard was much bigger. But not big.

@TheHorse ........Yes, cats have that quickness. I had a salamander for a while when I was younger.

They really are. The babies will jump on your hand for warmth if you tap behind them. The older ones just run and hike. But Kitty is quick.

They are hard to catch, Kitty must be a expert hunter. There is one here that runs up to me and just freezes like we chilling, but Delta our dog always runs it off. Our dogs can never catch them. Tristan was a master at catching Rabbits, and squirrels, but he couldn't even catch them lizards.

Kitty is quick. I don't know if she understands that I don't eat lizards. But I am honored that she brings them to me.

I have never heard about these lizards, We have tiny little lizards here I see hopping about the roof, Our cat Sid in Latvia would bring in field mice and then it was a Tom and Jerry cartoon situation. Sid would release the mouse, and my husband would attempt to grab it, Sid would pick it up and then my husband chased him around until he got the mouse and then dropped it over the fence into the neighbor's yard

Some of our little lizards drop their tails when frightened. Is the Western Fence lizard one of those that do that?

It might be for a kitty. I don't know if humans ever make fence lizard stew.

@kobesbuddy I ate rattlesnake in California. On a rafting trip. It was in our campsite. I think we under-cooked it.
