A message on a jigsaw

Years ago, we hosted two couch-surfers from Singapore. We’ve stayed in touch ever since especially with the girl. She has had a lot of health issues lately too. Two days ago, I received a letter from Singapore from a name I didn’t know. It contained the pieces of a jigsaw. There were obviously words on the backs of the pieces so I got to and did the jigsaw on a cork table mat. It was only a small one so it was easy enough to do although I didn’t know what the picture would look like. Then I placed another mat on top, turned the whole thing over carefully and removed the mat now on the top. Our friend had written a message to Vince on the back of the jigsaw, wishing him all the best for a quick recovery.

What an original and caring get well message for him. You'll have to find a cute little puzzle to send back to them with a message. It could be your new and exciting way of sending encrypted messages back and forth.

There was no message with the puzzle and for some reason she had used a totally different name on the address.

@allknowing It was quite a small puzzle so once I put the edges together it wasn't very difficult to fill in the middle pieces.

That's a sweet thought : ) Funnily enough just last night we were talking about exactly this - I have a stack of plain jigsaws that I picked up years ago, thinking they might be useful for parties or something. In fact I had completely forgotten about them again by now, but Big One reminded me and I was encouraging her to use them for something!

There are quite a few in the clubroom in a drawer so I've been doing them a few at a time. I'm not sure what else you could use them for though.
