The world does not have everything I want, even in this Internet era...as simple as bedsheet

So sofa covers...my father ...my dear father...my old father....the last time he chose the cloth for redoing it....very light colors. I was telling him, Dad it is beautiful but it will get dirty........but my voice even though loud is not louder than a male's voice...he naturally prevailed. Since then, which is almost since COVID times....... I have been using the old sofa covers on the seats...... to prevent them becoming dirty. I could have bought sofa throws but ...I honestly didn't have that kinda time till now. It was always, I will go sometime to this place, and get and so on and so forth. Finally, the last couple of weeks I put in earnest efforts to find one. I realized there is a lot of choice around, but none meets my requirement....surprised...very. I was looking for beige covers, to blend with the rest of the decor. They were either too dark or dull, or too bright ...some did not have corresponding single chair covers so...the set would look odd, others had too much design which would make my small room look cluttered...filled too much, notwithstanding the fact that the design was good. Then comes the fabric specification .. I wanted poly cotton. It does not wrinkle or get stains. The ones I was liking were cottons, or too heavy for washing machine. Cheaper products were superb in designs BUT...they were in microfiber. That can feel horrible in summers out here...we have 3 months of dreadful heat. The cotton ones that I selected were more likely to leave lint, and I couldn't bring myself to think of velvet for being unsure of quality leading to problems after laundering. Same with satin. Microfiber tends to get damaged at 60C and I always wash at 60C to kill whatever are the germs there after farting. Cottons fade. Cottons develop stains. Cottons wrinkle. Cottons are not really long lasting. Added to all this was the tying process, under the sofa...mine is too heavy for me to be doing all that every month. So let us buy bed sheets or shawls, was what I decided. Easy to remove, easy to put on. Did I forget thread count? So many factors...for such a small budget.......sigh. It has taken more than 3 months by now to locate a product, which of course had to be in my budget too. I settled for cotton despite its drawbacks, because well..........not finding the right one actually. Shopping is a pain. Especially if you are as profound thinker as I. Or a woman. Do you enjoy shopping? Do you consider so many factors? And do you feel you always settle for less than what you want despite the effort? Manufacturers should seriously consult me.

LOL....you all should live in a jungle. LOL. The previous one I had selected was very good. My father suddenly decided he wanted a new look to the room, and well, our house has been ugly for more than 3 years now. LOL

I know. Right colors they can double as dining table covers during emergencies, or even curtains or other table covers. I have used bedsheets as curtains.

@wolfgirl569 When we shifted from old accommodation to this one, my father packed many of his things in sheets, including his tools. I was at office that day, and well, he was so careless, he kinda packed his tools...you know the saws and screw drivers and hammers etc....and most of my sheets were torn then. Or the pairs broken. :( Men...don't understand anything. LOL

Online shopping has made it easier and cheaper to buy things. But I don't think you are the type of shopper who would buy anything until seeing and physically handling the product. I also won't consult you if I was a manufacturer. Production would be delayed, waiting as your perfectionist attitude place excessive demand on quality standard impossible to be met. Meanwhile i would go bankrupt.

I love to shop, especially if it's for something that's hard to find. I love the search and challenge. I hope the new covers work out for you. Have a good week.
