I can say I love Zelensky...though I had suggested this move before more lives were lost

And more properties too. There is a defeat to be courted. He plans to. It must hurt terribly. History will not be kind to him, notwithstanding the fact that he was not the one who started the war. Even though it should for averting a World War III, by sucking in others into it. I wish he had accepted the situation earlier. Fewer lives would be lost, lesser property would be destroyed, Ukrainians would have been left with only one person to blame, him, not carry the feeling of defeat in their hearts. Many refugees would now be enjoying better facilities than what awaits them back home. So they would be unwilling to return. The truth is, that feeling called patriotism does not exist in everyone's heart. Self takes precedence. And well....Zelensky will be the scapegoat. Yet, there is lot to admire in him. A lot. Salute. History will remember the winner. But here, the hero is Zelensky. Right?

He is preparing another option in case Putin's friend Trump wins the presidential election. But appeasement never satisfied dictators. Despite England's Chamberlain conceding to all the demands of Hitler, it didn't stop the dictator from invading Poland and starting WW11. Right-wing parties like Trump's MAGA are slowly gaining political power in many European countries. Fascist and authoritarian/ totalitarian governments may well be the new "Axis powers" threatening democracy in the near future.

To be fair, we are not really a democracy. Even if a party wins, there should be proportionate representation, isn't it? Anyway, I think attempt to achieve peace, read compromise, though late, is still welcome. Putin would be a fool if he refused it, because if he does, other European members would be scared considering the history with Hitler. Then they would actually step into this war to prevent future harm to themselves.

@vandana7 ~Winston Churchill said, “democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others that have been tried.” He was being cynical because the British people voted him out from the office of prime minister just months of winning WW11. Perhaps this would also be Zelensky's fate. In time of crisis, we look for strong leaders but when the danger no longer exist we begin to notice their flaws (after all they're human) as we see the Biden debate debacle change public perception.

Poor Zelensky, from puppet to scapegoat and now that more right parties are winning in Europe, I suppose Ukraine will never be part of the EU.
