The Great Sock Robbery

July 2, 2024 12:56pm CST
Bertram the cat had a problem. He couldn't find his favorite fuzzy blue sock. He sniffed everywhere, his tail twitching with frustration. He even checked the laundry basket, but it was filled with 'boring' socks. 'Where is it?' he yowled, pacing the room. Suddenly, he spotted a glint of blue under the bed. It was his sock! But it wasn't alone. A tiny, fluffy white dog, named Snowball, was wearing it as a hat. Snowball, blissfully unaware of the drama unfolding, was chasing his tail, the sock perched jauntily on his head. Bertram stared, aghast. 'You... you stole my sock!' he hissed. Snowball, with a mischievous glint in his eye, barked happily. Bertram, ever the pragmatist, decided to negotiate. 'Fine, you can keep the sock... but only for one hour. And then it's mine, understood?' Snowball, unable to resist a good deal, wagged his tail, agreeing. An hour later, Bertram was happily back in his favorite sock, leaving Snowball to contemplate the injustice of it all, a tiny, fluffy, sock-less dog.

That dog should consider himself lucky. I'd have made no such bargains, demanded my sock back, and beat him senseless until he complied.
