Five Reasons Your Cell Phone Battery May Be Charging Slowly

We all have many uses for our cell phones. Having them charged when we are away from home is crucial. Having it ready and available in case we need them is important. There are several reasons why your phone may not charge very quickly. Here are a few: * A major reason for a slow charge is that you may be running too many apps on your phone. I check through my phone periodically and get rid of apps I am not using. When your phones processor works harder to run apps it uses more power and causes the battery to drain quicker. It will also generate heat and cause the battery to degrade. * If the charger is plugged in wrong and it is upside down it can take twice as long to charge. This is because the current must flow in the reverse direction slowing down the process. Owners may overlook cleaning the port and they can get clogged. Use a soft brush or cotton swab to clean the port. * You may have a weak power source. If you charge your phone using a laptop running on battery power it will take much longer than using a wall outlet. * Be sure cords are not damaged. If it is old or damaged it may not transfer power as efficiently. Old cords can even make it overheat and put a strain on the battery. * The battery could be damaged. This can be caused from over exposure to heat or cold. Or the battery could just be aging and unable to hold a charge.

Dear Ms Phone Battery Expert, Can I use a blast of canned air to clean the port?

Too much running apps also drains battery fast. If phone is overheating it also drains. In my old phone I was able to install a cooler app but cannot recall what was that, It literally cools the unit faster.

Exactly. Well, there is Cooling Master, Smart Cooler, and Battery Doctor just to name a few. Have you tried Googling for the app?
