The new penal code in India, and Section 69

For starters, let me thank Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita ...for making me secure after almost 38 years. Now, I am confident that my relatives would not touch me. That said, I do have gay friends, whose rights continue to be trampled. I believe what goes on in one's bedroom is none of anybody's business provided it is with consent obtained without any compulsions, and with an adult who would carry no guilt of the act later on and is mentally stable to give that consent. Phew...that is ...well big thought from my tiny brain. All those who disagree with me, I respect your views, but I still don't understand why my friend should be thrown out of job when he is better than I in work. Maybe I am a retard. Whatever. That is not what I came to discuss. I came to discuss the consent for sex and marriage..Section 69 of the new laws. I believe sexual compatibility varies. When we stick to ancient ways of marriage without being aware of sexual compatibility, we take a risk of condemning the partners to lifelong dissatisfaction. There will then be straying from marriage and breaking up, heartaches, bickering, money calculations, children's unhappiness etc. CRIMES TOO. And depression and gun shooting. All stem from unhappiness at home. A sexually content person would not go about creating unhappiness around. Or am I wrong? So me says if I look at 10 clothes before buying 1, then there should be nothing wrong with dating at least 4 or 5 including confirming sexual compatibility and confirming whether they can get along with a person in other aspects. After all, they have to live with that person rest of their lives. People should also be honest with each other about it, to avoid future headaches. I am old, and therefore wise. (hopefully). Extracting promise of marriage upfront is shrewd. The rich and handsome guys better beware. LOL I am against dowry system, but I am also against trapping men into something that will be against their will. The only way to be certain is to put people through lie detectors of their intent to marry or not. If they had sex to confirm whether they are compatible enough for marriage or not, it is not wrong! Trapping men ...not my idea of ideal marriage. There is more to the deal than just look at the bank balances of the guy. Even if the guy is unable to prove his innocence, he is not gonna be happy in the marriage. What are we creating here? A drunkard? Wife beater? Gambler? Or a child who will pick an AK47 and rush to the nearest mall or school to drown the bickering at home? Both perspectives should be considered. Sorry ladies if this does not go down well with you. But there are always two sides to a story.

No one should be fired from a job for being gay and men or women should not be trapped into a marriage.

@vandana7 As long as they don't tell me what they do in private, I can get along with them.

@LindaOHio I would be repulsed even if straight people described their act. So it is for something to remain in closet. I don't think of that when I meet a person, why should I be forced to think about it.

I wish people would be happy in their marriages like they show in movies. I wish we could all become literally dumb when we reach our homes.

Everything should be looked into when choosing a partner for the rest of your life.

Trapping men - or women - is not the ideal start to any marriage or relationship.

Most of Indian marriages out here are arranged marriages. Love marriages are looked down upon. There is no society's support to love marriages. Added to that is condemnation where everybody in the surroundings will tell their kids not to be like that couple. There is dowry system. The girl pays dowry to get married to that guy. The dowry is determined based on the educational qualifications plus inheritable wealth plus employment type plus looks.
