Had a sleepless night

I have no sleeping problems but yesterday was a bad night as Billu the mother cat who left around 3 pm never returned until this morning I could not sleep the whole night as the kititens are just 12 days old and they need to be fed every four hours. I would get up now and again to check if they were still alive. All is well now Billu is there with them and feeding them never leaving their side. Wonder what happened last night. We have a long way to go to see them running around.

If she did not that would have been disastrous as they are not used to outside food - just 12 days old

I'm relieved to hear that Billu returned safely to care for her kittens. It must have been a stressful night for you, constantly checking on the kittens. It's heartwarming to know that everything is okay now and Billu is back with her little ones. Watching them grow and eventually start running around will be such a joyous sight!

@allknowing Watching kittens grow and start to explore their surroundings is always such a delightful experience! How are they doing now?

@allknowing glad to know the kittens are not starving. Billu also believe in you to take care of them.

@ifa225 Billy knew I would not touch them as that is the rule. We should not touch them until they are able to move around and on solid food

I think you are right And she has judged the situation in that she knew her babies would not starve May have fed them good before leaving.

I wonder what happened. May be Billu found a place where to steal the fish that she loves so much.

She was better with her eating yesterday She actually belongs to the neighbours and Peppie her older brother brought her home They are the best of friends. I assume she went there and they feed her.

@LadyDuck She has gone again today after giving full attention to her babies. Today I am not upset and hope she will be back tomorrow. Cats know best I guess

@allknowing - It is very possible, she got home for a visit. I have a cat that comes to see me every few days, I know she has owners, but she enjoys what I give her.

Thank heavens Billu returned. My son took in a kitten and was bottle feeding it every two hours for a week or two.

These kittens are too tiny for bottle feeding. If Billu had not returned I do not know what would have happened to them

Perhaps she spent the night at the neighbour's. Actuall she belonged there before she came here as a kitten. Peppie our cat brought her here and they are the best of friends.

This was very stressful. I am sorry. I had the same experience when I had kittens a few years ago. I had a kitten, I found an owner and she only lived for 1 year. The kitten I raised just disappeared after 1 year. I promised that I would never feed kittens so young.
