He is back at the rehab facility. He checked his stash; and it appears that nothing was missing. His phone was still there as well.
He said coming back to the awful food was quite an eye-opener. He only ate part of his dinner.
He should have physical therapy today. I hope he hasn't regressed too much.
I haven't received the packet of material yet for the appeal.

It would be very expensive. We are already paying $300 per day.

@LindaOHio Could someone bring him the meals on wheel? That is not at all expensive.
May be should he had better food you could shorten his stay there and stop earlier to pay $ 300 a day.

@LadyDuck No, Meals on Wheels is based on your home address. They won't deliver where he is. I am still hoping he will be home in 2 weeks.

Glad everything was still there. Sorry about the food. I guess he needs to open a DoorDash account.

@LindaOHio — sometimes I wonder if they deliberately make the food as awful as possible on the assumption that most older people have diminished senses of taste. At any rate, if people are paying for food as part of living there it should be palatable!!

When I was at the hospital, I could not understand how they could charge so much yet make such terrible meals. There was a nutricionist that came to my room everyday. She looked like a movie star and she asked me what part of the meal had I eaten. I looked at her with hate and answered the only edible thing was the jello

You know I was just thinking how odd the food is so bad. At the rehab facility food should be delicious so everyone has energy for PT. Blessings to you both and I hope you have a good weekend,
