As (I am sure) most of you know, yesterday was Independence Day in the USA. For me, it started with an early morning walk, during which I received an invitation text from a friend for dinner. I was not about to go empty-handed, so after coming home and cooling down for a bit, I went for another walk to buy two bottles of wine (one to keep at home). In total, I walked 4.5 miles (7.24 kilometers), and after that, I did little more than drink a glass of wine and nap until she came to pick me up. We had a lovely visit, but after three glasses of wine and time spent walking in stale, stifling heat, I was exhausted. When I got home, I changed into my jammies, grabbed the remote and the cat, and stretched out on the couch to watch TV. Immediately, he was purring. Then, the next thing I knew, it was 4:00 a.m., and I watched less than five minutes of TV and had slept about eight hours. An hour later, I went for my usual three-mile walk and was about three-quarters of the way home when I remembered I'd forgotten to take the Ziploc bag full of watermelon slices out of my purse.

That could leave a fine mess. lol. But it seems you had a good time and that is all that matters, despite the watermelon. At least you found it sooner rather than later.

Yes, it sure could have, but thankfully, the bag was upright in the purse, so no juices spilled.

The watermelon was okay, so I ate it. I walk about three to four miles every day. I'm glad I met my friend, too. Her friendship means the world to me.

I'm glad that you spent time with your friend and then got some rest. That's a lot of walking. I'm glad that the watermelon was in a Ziploc bag and didn't leak!!! Have a good weekend.

Thanks, I hope you have a good weekend too. I am getting ready to go to the movies with that same friend and a few of our other friends and acquaintances. We've done this three times already this year, and it's been an enjoyable time for all. The last time, though, it was literally just the two of us. I mean, there was no one else in the screen room.

I sure did, and now that I've been awake six hours, walked three miles, and spent a little time on here, I am ready to nap again.
