Vince made a sponge today

Friday night is drinks night at the clubhouse. Those who want to order fish and chips or pizza which is picked up by two members at around 6pm. We all take our own drinks, have our meal and chat until it’s time to go home. Sometimes we might play a few games but sometimes people are happy to just sit and talk.
Today Vince made a sponge, filled it with cream and decorated it with strawberries. We took it to the clubhouse to share with the members. The double layer meant the cake was very high and difficult to cut into more than eight pieces but each couple shared one piece. The bottom layer had cream and strawberries much like the top so we ended up with 16 pieces which was just enough.
Would you believe I forgot to take a photo of it but it was very like the one in the photo although the sides weren’t covered. It’s so good to know Vince felt well enough to make a sponge.

I too was wondering the image did not match your description but at the end I read that the image was not yours.

He is practically as good as before the surgery. He just needs to get a bit fitter in case he has to face more treatment for a spot on his lung.
