I ventured out to feed the outside cats and take the recyclables out...oh and get the mail. Man is it "HOT"!!! It was 11:15 a.m. and already 100 degrees. My area is a little way in from the Pacific Coastline (Atascadero California). My electric bill next month is going to look like the national debt because I'm going to HAVE to run the air conditioning. I've already got the fans running and they help some, but not a lot. The cats have found cool spots under the bed. Whoever designed this building had their brain up their fanny, the cooler vents are in the ceiling which drives the heat down...whoopie, it's great if you want to cook on the floor!!!! Yesterday it was around 107 degrees and they figure it's going to be hotter through the weekend.
We weren't supposed to set off fireworks, and someone close by set off a bunch at around 9:30 p.m. last night. One was like a bomb blast under my apartment. My apartment shook like crazy, and the cats ran and hid and didn't come out until around midnight. The goofy neighbors kept setting off the darned things even though they're illegal in my county. The penalty is arrest and a healthy fine if they're caught. I wasn't too happy about the fireworks but couldn't report it because I didn't know who was doing it. I'm not one for retribution, but I hope the one that was like a bomb blast damaged something important for the people that set it off.
So, my neighbor friend and I were hoping for a quiet day today and I found an invite to a birthday party for the neighbor who lives below me. She turns 93 years old today and they decided to throw a party for her. I don't feel up to going, but I love the little old lady and really don't want to miss it. As my neighbor and I have agreed we'll probably go down for a few minutes and then kind of disappear.
Then to top the start to the day off I got a call from Mitchell S.D. telling me that they have been trying to get ahold of me to collect back income taxes. HUH???? I've been on disability long enough that I don't owe income tax...and I haven't heard of them in S.D. Very interesting. Can you spell "SCAM"?????
Well with that start to the day, I'm going to kick back and work on bears, and torment people on the lot about three legged cats in Fourth of July costumes.

OH, and try to stay cool, it's noon and 105 degrees.
UNCLE!!!!

I am sorry to learn that your area is very hot outside while my area is hoping that Hurricane Beryl stays away from Lake Charles even though the storm is likely to hit Mexico or Texas this weekend.
