Try to Find New Happiness

July 7, 2024 1:06am CST
I don't know what I am. I have only seen sorrow in life. If I get a little happiness, maybe God has some hostility towards me and he takes it away. But still, I try to find new happiness.

When I used to feel like that, and feel that any good thing was overridden by multiple bad things, it was really hard. The first thing I started to do was find even the smallest positive thing and appreciate it - even if it was that I'd got out of bed that day or I'd spent time outside or I'd seen a pretty insect. There were other bigger changes I made, and later I made a 'good things' jar. I'd write something good that happened (whether it was once a day, once a week or whatever) and fill a jar with pieces of paper. I'd then open them up on a given date (I'd save mine for a year). I must say that I can still be suspicious of life when good things do happen. However, I'm much better at appreciating them now and at turning negative into positive.

I'm sorry to hear that life has been challenging for you. It can feel like happiness is fleeting sometimes, but it's important to keep seeking out those moments of joy. Remember, you're stronger than you think, and things can get better. Keep pushing forward, and I hope brighter days are ahead for you.
