Yo, what's occurring in your world? For me, life isn't too bad. Annoyed with the same people who always annoy me. I was going to have a rant about that but, for reasons I won't go into, I don't want to do that. I am happy with the people that make me happy. At work, I've met (via MS Teams) two new starters, and I've had one of them listen to some of my calls. Friday morning, I'd had one of those days where nothing was simple. In the afternoon, while the newbie was listening, I hardly had any calls. Apart from one, they were all simple ones where I was chasing call backs or updating information. You don't want to read any more about that, though. Unfortunately, the most interesting parts of my job of bound with data protection so I couldn't share them anyway! Yesterday (that was Saturday), I took my little niece and nephew out. I say 'little' but they are 11 and 13 years old. They're just the youngest of our nibbling (in fact, they are now the only actual children of all of our children, nieces, nephews). Anyway, I'd asked them on Friday if they'd like to do something. There had been two previous occasions I was going to have them and they changed their mind. This time, Nephew initially declined while it was a maybe from Niece. I then told them what I intended to do (which was some form of indoor crazy golf). They both then said they wanted to go. My husband and my eldest son so came with us. I must say it was a pain with buses but I won't go into that! There is a bowling alley/arcade place where they have other things such as crazy golf, air hockey and pool tables. My husband had said he wanted to play but then changed his mind when we got there. That was good in a way as it meant I only needed a family ticket for the golf. Niece and I came joint first on that. We then played various arcade games, had something to eat, taught Niece and Nephew how to play pool. Between us, we had lots of tickets from winning games that the children could swap for goodies. They got a few things. We then came back. Husband went home as he was tired. Niece said she wanted to come into the city with me and my son. Nephew said he didn't want to. That meant an extra bus change to drop him back off with my mum. My son and I took Niece to a couple of our favourite shops. She seemed quite excited when we introduced her to Warhammer. It will be nice to actually have enough people to play it if she decided to join us! We then dropped her off at my mum's before coming home ourselves. We played a game called Danger Danger, which we had bought while we were out. Today, I'm doing some volunteering as we prepare to reopen a community venue in a couple of weeks. I was going to see the opening night show but I'm hoping to be volunteering then as well. I think my sister and my son will be watching the show. I expect I'll get to see some of it if I'm there anyway. I should probably get myself ready. I will need to have a shower before I go. I've got about an hour to get ready, which is plenty of time. I've prepared the veg for dinner for later. I still need to clean the bathroom, and I might get some writing done. I've had a message from my best friend about trying to organise a time to do something. I've been waiting for her to let me know when she was free. Since then, I'm now not free for the rest of this month! Turns out she's not either, so we're going to try and do something after my summer holiday. Apart from my volunteering thing, I'm out for a leaving do for a couple or colleagues next weekend (one retired, the other moving teams), I've got a festival to go to the weekend after that, the next one is a meal with my husband's best friend and his wife. The weekend after that, we'll be packing for our holiday. It seems to have taken ages to get around but now it's creeping up quickly. I've tired myself out thinking about things I need to do My two boys are still looking for jobs and getting frustrated about that. Apparently, young people don't want to work but nobody seems to want to employ those who do want to work! One is volunteering in a charity shop, the other has had a bit of work as a private tutor. He's got another interview lined up and he might reapply for one he did before as they're now really desperate ?? I really should go now. Ta ta for now. What's happening with you?

Thank you for the update. I hope your sons find jobs. Companies are begging for people here in the US. I went to see my husband yesterday. He's still in rehab. Have a good week.

I keep being told that companies here in the UK are crying out for people. I'm also told that young people don't want to work. My eldest had an interview as a maths teacher's assistant. He interviewed well and did a good presentation. He was just not very confident in his delivery. He didn't get the job but now the school needs an entire maths department! Of course both boys are still in that infinite loop of needing experience but not getting the opportunity because they don't have enough experience. I have been reading your updates about your husband. It sounds like a nightmare. We do have similar issues here with the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Seeing the costs and difficulties with insurance does make me thankful for our national health service here, though.

@pumpkinjam I'm sorry your sons are having trouble getting jobs. I've always supported a NHS here in the States; but I doubt it will ever come to fruition. Have a good day.

Wow, sounds like you've had a busy time lately! Your day with your niece and nephew sounds like a lot of fun, despite the bus hassles. It's great that you're involved in volunteering for your community venue reopening too. As for me, I am thinking on ways on how can I earn more.

I don't always realise how busy I've been until I write these long posts It was nice to spend time with my niece and nephew. I don't get that much time with them. As for the volunteering, it's for a place that's always been important to me and to the town. It's been closed for 5 years so it's fantastic that it's coming back. I'm always thinking about how to earn more (or work less for the same as I earn now! My job pays reasonably well but I definitely need more money for treats and holidays...

@pumpkinjam Wow, it sounds like you've been juggling a lot! Spending time with your niece and nephew must have been such a joy, even with the bus hassles. Your volunteering efforts are truly commendable, especially for a place so meaningful to you and your town. I completely get you on needing more money for treats and holidays. If you come across any great ideas for earning more, do share! Always looking for new ways to balance the workload and enjoy life more.
