I Went on a Mouse Hunt

This morning, I found my laptop mouse missing from my desk. I can't do much without it so I went mouse hunting. I looked around the desk, through the living room and kitchen, and down the hall where it was hidden in a corner. I cornered the thief and asked him who did this. Alex, the black cat, just looked at me with innocent eyes. He did the same thing when he ran off with my pens, comb, and other things. I must put all loose items in a drawer. I am glad it was not a live rodent? Does your cat or dog steal things from you? Does he like to play chase games with your stuff?

My cat knocks down things from the desk, but he does not hide my stuff.

@akalinus - I think he likes the sound, when I look at him he stops, but if I am not around he keeps busy.

@LadyDuck He is sneaky and wants to think that you don't know what he is doing. Cats rule!

Alex loves the noise things make when he chases them around on the floor. He loves to knock around pens, combs, and whatever. He has all kinds of cat toys but he likes our toys better. Your cat must like the sound of something falling on the floor.

Our cats have been taking our hair ties. We've been losing a lot of hair ties because of them. Sometimes they play around with some of the wrappers of one of our snacks.

The lady I rent a room from has long hair and often uses hair bands or ties. Alex always takes them and hides them so he can run up and down the hall chasing them in the middle of the night.

@HaruLoid He can pretty much play as much as he wants. He has his sister cat to play with and they have a huge cat tree and a cat chair but Alex wants to play with pens and hair ties. Izzy likes to sleep in a litter pan under my friend's bed. She used it to water her plants but Izzy kept wanting to sleep there. Go figure out the life of a cat.

@akalinus That's adorable of Alex. I'm glad Alex can playfully run at night.

When I do need a mouse, I use my computer's track pad. But, yes.... I had a cat who would play with the oddest of things. Let's just say I'm thankful he crossed rainbow bridge when he did, or George's feeding tube would be fair game.

I gave up on the computer track pad. I do better with a mouse. I'm sorry to hear that he crossed the rainbow bridge.

I am glad too. I really need my mouse. I found it in the desk drawer this morning. That is where it will live from now on when I am not using the laptop.

I didn't think of that. He has toy mice of his own but he wants to play with mine.

They do that for attention, & they know just how to get it & because their board so they find it fun to keep you in suspense so they hide things that you are attached to.

That's true. Sometimes I think it is a game of hide and seek with them. It gets them some attention when the mouse runs down the hall.

Do you let your cat play with them? They might be your cat's friends.
