I think she is in Hurricane Beryl and so far I think she's okay. worried all weekend

July 8, 2024 2:58pm CST
Good Afternoon myLot! As anybody who reads me knows, I started therapy with a wonderful therapist. I have a standing Thursday telehealth appointment for therapy with her. For reasons that aren't important both my therapist and I had to reschedule several sessions and I haven't seen her in about a month. She practices out of Texas. I looked up her name online and she is in Houston. I have been so worried all weekend if she is okay. She works with a major company out of New York that sends me emails for her and I have to fill out questionnaires every two weeks on my progress and sends me reminders that I have an appointment emails. I received an email sometime around 9 a.m. which is when they sent appointment reminder emails, telling me I have a session with my therapist on Thursday morning and they gave me the link for telehealth to her. They will send me another link shortly before the session. they are very thorough! Have you ever had anybody you admire as much as I do my therapist affected by a Hurricane? I hope and pray she is okay. we should all pray for everybody in Texas that are in the Hurricane

I am so glad you found such a great therapist. Houston is a wonderful place to live, but indeed, hurricanes are a risk. I’m sure when you see her face again you will be happy to tell her how glad you are she is okay. Most of the people I know, and also admire, are mainly affected by tornadoes. Even my friends in Texas are usually worried more about tornadoes than hurricanes. Although, one friend who lives in the Galveston area certainly has hurricanes on her concerns list at times.

I never knew anybody who lived in Texas. it is scary when one knows somebody who could be affected. Here in Southwestern PA, we are being affected by tornadoes this summer more than ever. It is scary but I don't know if they are as bad as a hurricane. my area will get some remnants of the hurricane on Wednesday with rain Yes, i will tell my therapist how much I missed her and was worried about her. she is the best the weather is causing me so much anxiety since i have a bad weather phobia. Have a great day

thank you. As of this morning, I still did not get an email saying she canceled for Thursday which I am taking that she is okay. If there was something wrong the health company would most likely have sent a cancellation email. I will try to think positively since I did get the reminder email about the appointment

@LovesEverybody It's good to think positively.

@just4him I have decided to try that. I was getting to be too much of a negative Nancy and it was making me miserable. I am much happier thinking positively. But I still find it hard sometimes

We should, I was just reading that 2.6 million people in Houston are without power. That makes me think; the company that I mystery shop for is in Dallas. They will probably be affected too..

I am sorry if the company you mystery shop for is in Dallas. Let's hope Hurricane Beryl went around Dallas. I had the weather channel on this morning for a little bit and they didn't mention Dallas. so that sounds like good news. My sister was in Dallas with my nephew a couple of weeks ago for business so thank goodness she came home and isn't able to get home I didn't know a town could have 2.6 million people in it. My town has about 5 to 10 thousand people have a great day

@snowy22315 That is a lot of people to be living in one city! I forgot I went to Philadelphia about 30 years ago with my sister with her on a business trip. Philadelphia was big but for some reason, i thought that they only had businesses and that people didn't live in the area

I hope and pray that your therapist is okay and will be in touch as usual. I heard that there are lot of people there without power so that might affect her ability to get in touch.

thank you. I think she is going to be available on Thursday as I have not had an email yet telling me she canceled. The last time she canceled was on June 20th i got an email telling me weeks in advance she was going to be out of the office. But I am still worried about her

@LovesEverybody Some therapists can't help if anxiety or depression are severe.

@dya80dya Yes, then one should find a therapist who specializes in anxiety and depression

My current one is only the second therapist I have admired and who wanted to help me. I have had many others and quit going to all of them because I didn't feel they were helping me.

I don't know people like that, but I knew people who had family directly impacted by 9/11.

I am so sorry about the people who had family impacted by 9/11. I have had my cousin in Tampa/St Petersburg being in a Hurricane.

I had a friend who lived in Texas, but she moved to Georgia. Her husband is in the military. I don't know where she is living now.
