Dear friends, good morning all! We all started earning in our lives at some point. Some of us earned more, some less. By the way, what was your first salary? How much did you earn? Do share only if you are comfortable.

My first salary was 13,000 a year. I was so excited. That was above minimum wage and seemed like a lot of money to me

Wow, that's some serious figure to start with, if I'm not wrong. Just my perspective though. But I assume, because you come from the US, I'll put $ sign before 13000, making it $13,000. That's almost a million INR to us. By the way, how long ago was that?

Well, you started earning (too) early in your life. You were just a teenager. Honestly, my first earning didn't come that early

@porwest You are a gem of a person I'm meeting today. You are a motivation to those who think it's difficult to earn money. I think you can do anything in your life and earn. You have earned my respect. But working at such a tender age of eight - quite remarkable. Just to mention, we have labor laws prohibiting minors from working and attend free schooling.

@abhi_bangal I have always been in money making mode as long as I can remember. When I was eight, I sold greeting cards door to door. Even before that 1st job at 14 I was mowing lawns and washing cars.

The memories of our First Salary, whatever be the conditions is always special. Mine was INR 6.5 K and it was way back in the year 2001.

@abhi_bangal Those were the early Technology days in India. Terms like Dot Com, Ecommerce, Net Connection, Dial Up, Fibre Broadband were all exciting things. I remember that exploring new and colorful sites was so much fun.

Exactly. The first income of our life is always special. And we hardly forget it. I too remember mine. But wasn't as much as your's, hahaha... But as you said, yes, these things are very special and hardly do we forget them. You were talking about the 2001 thing. I think, mine was around the same time as well. Thanks for mentioning that. It took me 23 years back. Nostalgic!!!

@kaylachan So true. Nothing like reading the message on your mobile saying your bank account has been credited with $$$... What a pleasure

I am confortable in sharing my first salary .I started my career as a IT programmer. My first salary was just Rs 4872. It was my salary for working 2 weeks as I had joined on 18th . It was a great feeling. However, as I had opened a new bank account, did not have the pin to the debit card. So, had to buy things for family with help of debit card. It took another two weeks to get hold of card pin. Looking back it was a proud moment as it was my first earnings of any sort in my life.

That's quite great of you to share your first payment experience. Even just to read it, gives satisfaction as to how the feeling is. These moments are always special and close to our hearts. There are many people who even remember what they had bought with the money of their first salary. We, especially buy something for our near and dear ones, like, mother, father, wife, or kids.
