Is it a choice or is it a chance that determines our destiny?

Do you believe that the choices we make shape where we end up in life? I firmly believe that our destiny is crafted more by the decisions we make than by random chance. Every choice, big or small, plays a role in shaping our journey. While we can't control everything that happens to us, how we respond and the paths we choose greatly influence our future.

I honestly believe it is a combination of both. When given choices, they are ours to make. Not everyone has the same choices, and any choice we make can have obstacles or unexpected outcomes. I think we can influence our lives with our choices but I also believe that there is an element of chance.

@annierose for me, it depends on the obstacle or the intention. To give a minor example, yesterday I chose a piece of cake. The shop had just sold the last piece. I chose a different piece. That's a really simplified version of 'this is no longer an option but this other thing is just as good'.
For other things, I don't really know. I've overcome many obstacle and I think I dealt with each one very different. Sometimes, I just gave up. Sometimes, I tried a different approach. Sometimes, I turned the obstacle or surprise into what I was doing.

@pumpkinjam That makes a lot of sense! It’s fascinating how even small choices, like picking a different piece of cake, can show us how adaptable we can be. For bigger obstacles, it sounds like you have a flexible approach, which is great. Adapting and sometimes even turning challenges into opportunities can really make a difference. Thanks for sharing your insights! How do you decide when to change your approach versus sticking with your original plan?

I completely agree, pumpkinjam. Life does seem to be a combination of our choices and chance events. The unpredictability can add both excitement and challenge. Balancing our decisions with an acceptance of unexpected outcomes can be tough but also rewarding. How do you approach handling obstacles or surprises that come from the choices you make?

@annierose Not believing poor people when they told me you can never become rich unless you make a lot of money.
