Can someone explain this smell?

Whenever it rains, There is this good scent that comes with the air when the water is pouring. I usually smell this during spring. The wind smells great. I don't smell this in cities but in rural area. Someone told me the smell came from the soil, This scent was release when it rains. I heard India is able to capture this smell from the soil and capture it into perfurme.

So it has a name. I love inhaling the air whenever this smell manifest. I usually smell it during spring and rainy days

@CaptAlbertWhisker it is like a scent of freshly washed laundry. you know the smell is there but you can't recognise which one.
