How often do you do online shopping? For me, it was almost last year that I had bought anything. More than 12 months now. What's your average duration of online shopping?

Let me see... My app says my purchase history is as follows: I bought 1. A basic phone in Sep 2022, 2. A money detector for the store in Dec 2022, 3. A replacement UV lamp for #2, plus a keychain money detector (to compare it with #2) in Mar 2023, and 4. Stuff for our dog (adhesive bandages, head scarf, dog socks) in Jan 2024. That's it. If my last order in May did not get "lost in transit", it would have been my fifth purchase. I usually only resort to buying stuff online if I can't find them in nearby physical stores, or if I find a better price online.

Wow, your's is quite different take as compared to M Cheung said. But that's logical as well. As I said in the above reply, I do get to choose from trusted brands online. But the downside is that we don't get to check and test things. It's only after you get the delivery and open the packet that you can test.

Ok. Good. So you order something that's required for the family as such. I appreciate that

Exactly. We do need to shop, especially for our routinely needed things. And happens with me too in such cases. For regularly needed things, I shop both online and offline.

@allknowing Good to know that you spend some money for pet food as well. Pets are at our mercy. And if we feed them well, the love us back in return. And their love is without any expectations. And when it's Xmas time it's all celebration time. And good to know that you are so actively participating in that. You are on a shopping spree

Ohhhh dear, I hope he is ok now. I can understand. Because you need to look after him, ordering stuff online saves you time.

@kaylachan I'm able to imagine the stress, the fatigue, and the balancing act you are doing. God has given this strength to women, that mental strength to bear the pain and carry the family on her shoulders. Men are just muscular. But not as strong as women. I can understand your fight. May God bless you and your family!!

@abhi_bangal I can't drive, and he's not driving yet. We don't have people we can rely on to go out in person as often as I would like. So online it is. Although there were some things I would regurally buy online. I'm just doing a lot more now.

Very rarely. I use Amazon from time to time and I get my vape juices through an online portal. Other than that, I prefer bricks and mortar.

Situations are so varied these days, moreover, our work pressure and the deadline. That makes me flexible as far as online shopping is concerned. I don't apply a particular rule or anything like that. It has to be suitable, should be able to spend that much time, go through traffic and all the stuff, the sun beating down, and the eating schedule... so many things to look after if I need to go to a big shopping mall in our area. Otherwise, ordering online is kind of fun too!

@porwest You are right. But, some articles that we buy online don't need these kinds of "tests" to go through. Just wanted to say this.

@abhi_bangal I find things cost more, and I prefer to be able to see, touch, smell and feel what I am buying.

I seldom do online shopping because the shopping mall is just a few minutes' walk from my place.

That's something I didn't expect, I mean this reply. Because you said, the shopping mall is just nearby. On the other hand, we have to go at least 7kms. That's our nearest mall for us. But that's not the only reason why I love online shopping. I get to know the price and choose between a number of brands. This is not possible for offline shopping.

@Beestring LOL... We share similar mentality. I too prefer buying online when they are offering promotions and big discounts. I try to buy as much needy articles as I can. But I've never bought any book online.

I do most of my grocery shopping online. Partly because I really hate going to the supermarket but also because I don't have a car. If I go to the shops, I will not be able to get all the things I need. If I shop online, I don't have to worry about being able to carry it all. Apart from groceries, I don't shop online as much as I used to. I would buy gifts online for a lot of people. Now, I will try and buy them from a proper shop if I can. I think the last thing I bought online, other than my regular shop, was partyware for my sister's birthday (her birthday was in June so I probably bought the stuff in May).

Yes. There are various reasons for all of us to go online shopping. Like you said your part, everyone has their story. I don't have a rule set when it comes to online shopping. I decide it on two things - the things I want to purchase, and my mood. at times, shopping for clothes and shoes is better online. I almost have never bought any groceries online so far, nor do I plan to, in the near future. I prefer buying groceries and vegetables from the market that is just 10 minutes walk from my house.

I buy online for items that are not easily broken, while items like eggs and rice I buy at the supermarket.

That's some smart choice. But I think the logistics department these days is smart. They can carry even fragile items like eggs quite easily.

i always do online shopping. it;s convenient for me. but shopping online takes a lot of risk because you don't see the product you are buying whether it is in good quality or not. buyers' reviews matter so i always take some time to read the reviews or comments about the product. i buy clothes, accessories and other stuffs online.

Definitely it's a risky affair at times. That's why I avoid buying electronic items, or other products like a mobile phone, power bank, etc. There's no way you can check these products before receiving the delivery. Also, buying that stuff from traditional shops gives you the advantage of checking the device. You can directly talk to the shopkeeper, and put your conditions. And still have the option to reject. That's why I prefer items like clothes, shoes, goggles, belts to purchase online. They aren't too complicated articles to buy and have almost no maintenance.

A lot of people in all generations nowadays resort to online shopping. Especially for the elderly people, it's quite good. Because, they don't need to move out and sitting at home they can shop what they want to.

Since last decade , my online purchases has increased. I could now officially state that atleast in 2 weeks I do online shopping, Groceries, clothes, electronics , household items and all form part of the purchases. It is very convenient considering the parking and traffic jams. I see more offers and discounts online .Well, interesting to see your part of the deal. Thanks for sharing!

Our shopping malls are spread around the city. If I need to buy something, I make a list of the items, as well as the work that I have to do in that particular area. If that's convenient I'll choose that particular mall to do my shopping. Or wait a day or two to sync things. And even when those things don't work out, only then I go for online shopping. I had ordered an oil bottle just 5 days back. The convenience, as you said, is time-saving. I could carry on with my work, while the online shopping people were doing the work for me. I didn't need to go around, because I needed only one item.
