She is leaving today...

Good afternoon from this side of the planet. It's past 2 PM. As I mentioned in my earlier post that Friday would be off for me from now onwards as I am conducting a Parent Education Program online for two hours on every Sunday. The school gives me Fridays off so that I do get enough to relax on weekends.
And today is my first Friday off. And today is the day my elder daughter goes back to her college after her semester break. Well, 45 days passed in a blink of eye. Good that I had a day off today, else I would have taken off. I could cook her favourite chicken biryani one last time. We will not see her till October end. And that too would be possible if she gets at least a week break for Diwali. Else she will come after Christmas for her semester break. She might go to my mom's place for Diwali. Her college is few hours from there. But I really hope that she comes for Diwali as Diwali falls on Halloween this year. And that's my younger daughter's birthday. She will turn 18. And she would love to have her sister there.
We will start for airport in another three hours.
My younger one is all emotional and this is the cake that she has baked for her sister. It's her favourite
I am going with her in the Airport shuttle bus. My husband will drop us to the bus stop. It gives me two more hours to be with her. And I will have two hours alone while coming back. I might use that for a nap or doing some online hustles on my phone.
Take care. Have a good time. Going to have my lunch with my family.

Yes, that's what I feel each time she goes. She has already finished two years and has another two years there. Not sure what would be her plans after that. We just wish that she finds some job nearby. She also has plans to pursue higher studies. Let's see what happens. Once children leave the nest, they never come back for good.

@arunima25 That's so true. The best you can hope for is that they find their own 'nest' somewhere close to their old home.

@JudyEv Yes. We can hope. We don't want our wishes to hinder their dreams. I hope that all turns out well for all of us

It is good that you had 45 quality days with your daughter.
And good that the heat in Delhi has now subsided.
The interesting yet in some ways worrying part is that in some city areas, rains come regularly, while other areas receive very little rain.
Getting used to a new routine would definitely take you some time.
That is a really, really nice cake and the emotions make it even more special!!
Have a nice weekend !

Learning Driving is very important.
The six months gap at this stage can indeed make one unlearn a few things.
Yet one cannot help certain things.
Hopefully, the younger one would get adjusted to the daily routine soon in a few days.

In Hilly areas, I once stayed for two months. I had some challenges while driving.
So the solution I found was to try and get a seat in the first few rows in the bus.
It worked.
Hopefully, both kids would have good time ahead.

She came in June. By that time, my holiday was over. But my younger one was free. Her B.Com.classes will start from August. So, these two could enjoy together. She had a productive holiday. She learnt driving and got her license. The last whole week she dropped me and picked me from my school. I know that it would be rusty once she is back after six months. She has to practice it in every holiday. Guess that my car has a L on it for another few years. She also was busy with internship.
Well, once they leave the nest, they got a lot happening in their lives. Life moves on for every generation.
My younger one gets really upset when she is gone. She takes a while to get over it.

Thank you. By God's grace all is going good. Having children in home is a blessing. And then empty nest is another blessing as they move out to spread their wings

Thank you Judy. It's been two weeks since she left. She feels homesick for couple of days and then gets soaked in the campus life. It's few months of wait till we see her again.

Yes, October is still far. And not sure if she can make it in such short time. We are praying for that. It will make my younger daughter so happy if her sister can join her for her 18th birthday. We wanted her to be in a college nearby and she got into some good ones too. But then this one is like a dream college and it's in other side of the country.

Despite all the sibling fight ( sweet ones), they are so strongly bonded. It's really heartfelt to see how they connect to each other and how much they care for each other . She feels homesick for a week and then gets soaked in the campus life. Once she leaves, my husband and I keep waiting for the time she will come back again.

@arunima25 - I am so sorry, I feel for her as I had motion sickness when I was younger. I hope she can rest.
Your younger one is surely lost without her big sister.

@LadyDuck That's why she likes to drive now as it doesn't give her motion sickness.
Younger one had a long holiday. Her new classes in college will start from August. She had a long break from March when she graduated from High school. Though she is keeping herself engaged in crochet, music and learning some accountancy software, she is mostly alone at home. She had a good company for 45 days, someone who understands her so well.

I am in the bus right now. It's raining and so the traffic is slow. Glad that we started a bit early. She wants to take a nap in the bus. She has motion sickness. So, here I am next to her and mylotting as the traffic is still.
My younger one is the most impacted one whenever she leaves. Being on Autism Spectrum, she is not able to express very well. But yes, she has been oversensitive in the last few days and wanted all the time with her sister .

Thank you Valerie. She is enjoying her course. She loves it and finds a passion in what she is doing. So, despite the demand it doesn't seem stressful for her. She was homesick for couple of days. Now she is soaked in busy campus life.
The cake was really yummy

Thank you Linda. I hope that she gets at least a week off in October to visit us, else it won't make any sense as it's very far and it takes a whole day in travel one way. If he schedule is tight, we would see her in December.

Yes, it's been almost two years now and slowly we are used to it. She is enjoying her college life and that's what is important and needed for her at this age. She does feel home sick from time to time, missing the home cooked meals.
Happy that she is coming for five days during Diwali. It's a short visit but we are happy that we can have festival together.

Yes, it js part of life. Things change with changing stages. She is embarking on a new journey and is ready to spread her wings. We are there to support it. Now, I am waiting for end of December. She will have a month long break again.
My two daughters are very well bonded. They fight, tease each other, but they love and care a lot for each other
