Good Morning 7/13: I had two surprises this week! plus random news

July 13, 2024 4:54am CST
I went to the eye doctor at Walmart in bad shape last Saturday, July 6. I could not see well for the past 6 years. I went to an eye doctor twice because the office was close to where I live. But both times I couldn't see out my glasses and was told by the doctor's office I would get used to them! My eyes are so bad I bought two pairs to make sure I can see. One pair for distance and one pair for reading. For the reading pair, I opted to add a blue light blocker to the lens. I decided while I was waiting for them to be ready that I would work on my education on the computer since I won't be affected by the blue light on my computer- I can improve my education by seeing if I can find classical music on YouTube. And I found many YouTube videos on learning grammar and punctuation. I want to improve my grammar. I want to watch fun videos before bed instead of watching TV for entertainment and being on the computer with a blue light blocker lens means I may sleep better. Since I got my blue light blocker lens i will be on myLot much more often! The young man who worked with me at Walmart told me my glasses were coming in on July 16. I was impatient because I was getting dizzy and headaches from wearing my old glasses. but I was willing to wait to be able to see. Then Wednesday of this week, the same young man called me and my glasses were in really early! Since my sister had bought glasses too and hers were ready too she already texted me that we could go today (Saturday) which I got immediately after I sat down to text her Then Friday my sister called me around 2 p.m. and asked me if I wanted to go a day early and pick up my glasses around 5 p.m. yesterday. I said YES! I LOVE both pairs of new glasses! I can see everything! I have my reading glasses on now and see everything on my computer! Did you recently get new glasses? do your glasses have a blue light block lens?

I'm so happy for you that your glasses are perfect, and you can see. Yes, I have a blue light blocker on my computer glasses.

Thank you! I am back to myLot because I went away to read books since I can see and missed being here! I am adjusting to blue light blockers. Last night I was on the computer before bed and had quite a bit of sleep. I had not been sleeping well since I got these glasses

@LadyDuck Then you had a good person. The person I worked with was just explaining the prescription page and what is offered and the paper mentioned blue light. I had to tell him I wanted it But the important part is I have it!

I don’t need glasses, but I do have a regular pair of blue light blockers to wear if I feel like I’m on my phone too much. Some day I’m sure I’ll have to get reading glasses. It is wonderful that you have glasses that work so well for you! I am absolutely thrilled to hear that it has made such a difference for your well being.

by regular do you mean your glasses don't have a prescription in them? do you wear them when you are on myLot or just on your phone? I hope you never need reading glasses, any type of glasses are horrible. I am the type who walks around a lot and I keep forgetting to change my reading glasses to my distance ones. I then have to go back to my room where I keep my glasses on my desk and change pairs around. Maybe i will get more exercise going back and forth to change pairs! Thank you! These glasses have completely changed my life. thanks for mentioning the blue light block and your phone. I admit I use my phone five minutes a day, But I use my Kindle a lot so now i can read books before bed! hip hip hooray!

That’s great to hear! It must feel amazing to see clearly again. I haven’t gotten new glasses recently, but I’m considering blue light blocker lenses too. Enjoy your new glasses and happy studying!

@LovesEverybody Mostly they're okay. When they're not, it's probably because I'm tired.

@NJChicaa that is the same thing with me. I had to push my last pair down to the bottom of my nose to read, and I still had a hard time reading. Before my new glasses, I think the headaches and dizziness I was getting were from those old glasses

That is great. I am glad you love your new glasses. I got sunglasses not long ago that are Polaroid and block UVA rays. I like the blue light that comes on when I look at bright light.

I am glad you got such great glasses! I am glad your eyes are protected. I never had a pair of prescription sunglasses but there are times when I wish I had them I see blue and purple when I look at a lamp or look out the window in my reading glasses which is normal I suppose with Blue Light blockers However, it is a little bit annoying to see the pink on the lenses of my distance glasses which have lenses that I ordered clear but a lot of time I see a lot of pink!

It must be wonderful to have new glasses and be able to see clearly. What a nice surprise to get them a day early too. I only have reading glasses and yes, mine have a blue light block.

I am thrilled beyond thrilled to have new glasses and be able to see out of them! it has been so many years since I have seen. Before my new reading glasses, I had to push my old glasses down to the bottom of my nose to read and even then I couldn't see clearly. Yes, I was so surprised because my sister told me we were picking them up today!

I need new glasses, but I have other problems and I can't replace glasses now. I had them for more than 10 years.

I finally got to the point I had to get glasses whether I wanted them. Mine were 6 years old
