I hope it isn't counterfeit

Well anyway, I think I might have mentioned I was trying to sell these Trader Joe bags I purchased because I heard they were going for big bucks online. Long story short, it didn't work out on the traditional selling sites so I posed on FB marketplace. This lady who lives in the Northern part of the state where friend lives was interested. However, she wanted to pay by Venmo (favorite tool of scammers,) or thru FB. Never heard of that. Anyway, since she lives up there anyway, I told her she could purchase them with cash..that is all we would take. Friend met her and she paid the money. However, the other part of the story is strange because she could have bought both of these at TJ's for half the cash. There are at least two up there..that I know of..albeit not that close to her. Anyway, where they did the exchange was about 2 or 3 miles from one. She actually seemed very nice. I am not going to mention to friend it could possibly be counterfeit but unlikely, because we have her contact info in our phones..she probably wouldn't do that since it could be passed onto police. Oh well, I am not going to worry about it.

Take it to a bank, they will let you know pretty quickly if it isn't the real thing. But I really hope that it is.

I could, but then again, do I really want to know? Stores only check larger bills It is a bit like buying something you suspect might be hot, but you don't want to find out because you got it for a great price

@Juliaacv If it was a larger bill, I would. I doubt seriously anyone is going to look twice at this..and she may be perfectly on the level anyway. Friend doesn't have good eyesight and wouldn't pick up on an obvious fake. I will make a final decision after I take a look at the bill.

@snowy22315 Here you can be charged for passing counterfeit money, that's why I suggested taking it to a bank.

Unfortunately lots of shonky people seem very nice but surely you'd be unlucky for it to be counterfeit.

I just wonder why she was so desperate to get her hands on these and went to great lengths to get them when those stores are not that far from where she lives.

@JudyEv It really did Maybe she doesn't like to shop or something. She obviously has no problems getting places, because she had to go about 10 miles or at least a half hour bus ride through traffic to get there to meet him.

We don’t have a Trader Joe’s around here. I heard they were like a slightly less expensive Whole Foods. I’d like to go sometime.

Yes, that is a good way to describe them. They usually have some unique items. They are nice there too. One time they gave me some flowers for free.
