I don't know how homemakers do it.

Good morning. And, what a busy day it's been so far. I have two loads of laundry to do, I have some cleaning that should be done and I finished what George started last night by bringing the trash and recycle bins inside our backyard fence. It's hot out there, just a bit, but I didn't break into a sweat, yet. But, everyone's been fed and medicated. The sun is shining and it's a bit overcast. and I was only outside a few minutes. George is soaking up the sunlight on the front porch and I decided to come in here and get a bit of work done. This, surprisingly, is me taking a break and in doing so I'm still working.

When I was married we divided chores. And when neither of us could do it, the hired someone to do it. This has been difficult for me lately because Bill Gates has not asked for my hand in marriage. So I hve to rely in what I can get.

Before George had his stroke, he did a lot of things which helped out a bit. I still took on the task of cooking and cleaning, but wasn't washing blankets every other day or so. The cleaning also never seems to end, either. Life is never boring, I'll give you that.

@kaylachan I know. I had to deal with a lot of new things when my husband was very ill. I remember that I even had to cut open new warm socks because his feet were swollen.

When you do it long enough, you just get into the rhythm of "homemaking". The rhythm can shift too as situations change - life does that, doesn't it? It's often always busy, so gotta take those breaks when we can.

@kaylachan I know whatcha mean. My break most likely means getting on the computer and heading straight to myLot . The rate I'm going here, I can never pay my bills with what I do . . . but well, the pennies still count as making money .

Yeah. And, I find it funny that when I'm taking a break, I'm online making those pennies. Paying those bills. So I never really seem to catch a break.

Being a housewife or house husband is still a lot of work.

That sunlight will make George feel a lot better:) I've heard that 15 minutes of sunshine each day, can ward off down moods. We got the laundry done today, dried them at the laundry mat.

I have got used to doing household chores since I was 24 when I got married. I had maids at times to help me and at times I didn't have.

With my husband being gone for almost 6 months, it's been rough; BUT we have a housekeeper who has done all the things that I cannot; so she's been a Godsend. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
