Part of me is not surprised this happened. The rhetoric of hatred from both sides has been going too far for some time right now. I'm hoping cooler heads will prevail for the rest of the campaign.
Incidentally, I'm not American. I don't much like either candidate to be honest.
I'm not into nasty debates so don't expect a response to anything approving of the violence that has happened. I think it's a sad day for the American people.

I don't have a problem with disagreement but hatred for anyone in disagreement is something else. Hatred leads to this.

@koopharper indeed. you don't have to agree but you should respect other person or their view, rather not hate it to this extent.

It's really hard not to ask: Are these the best candidates that the parties could put forward? I'm glad I'm not an American voter.

This is what I have been driving at since the shooting. The rhetoric. It's too much. We badly need to return to common sense and rational thinking. Not only did it almost end the life of a presidential candidate, but it could also end America as we know it.
