It is well known here that I am not a fan of his but I would NEVER wish death or harm on anyone. I'm not religious nor do I believe much in karma but I just don't think that it is the proper thing to do. I don't like Trump but I don't want him to be assassinated or harmed.
I'm still trying to catch up on the news. From what I can tell he was hit by a bullet (or multiple) in his ear. Likely the shooter was aiming for his head and missed. The shooter was outside of the venue so didn't have to go through the magnetrons which detect weapons. Those were the same mags that Trump wanted removed on Jan 6 so his MAGA nuts could bring weapons to his speech to incite the riot.
Was not expecting this to be my excitement on a Saturday night. I'm not thrilled to hear that Trump was shot. Supposedly the shooter was *outside* of the area with the "mags" that detect weapons. This was more like a JFK shooter from a distance.
Trump seems to be fine. The shooter was neutralized. There were at least 2 others who were wounded This whole thing is horrific. Good thing that everyone had all of that access to guns though!

I said the same thing that I do not like the man and certainly don't want to see him as the president but not harmed physically or killed.
From what I understand is the shooter was killed!
I hope Trump learns a lesson from this, if not then he is crazier then I thought.

@abhi_bangal Exactly that's what I said. And he shouldn't of had people murdered and wounded at The Capitol Building or made it the law that older people that got the Corona Virus or Covid have the "heavy" respirators put on their chests.
And I am glad that he wasn't killed or seriously shot. But is he going to learn a lesson from any of this?

I really appreciate your views. If we don't like anyone policies, that doesn't mean we should hurt or kill him. And well the shooter was killed instantly? That some serious and quick action. Here in India we take months for a certain action to be taken. We even allow the killers to defend himself even when the world has seen him shoot and take lives. I am referring to a security-breach defining moment in Mumbai a few years ago.

@dfollin Just what exactly is President Trump supposed to learn from this assassination attempt on his life? Don't hold a political rally? Don't try to restore economic and moral integrity to this country? Do you even recognize how ridiculous you sound?

I told my brother that, given the violence in the greater Pittsburgh area in the past, it could have as easily had been an argument as an assassination attempt.
I agree with you: I despise him and what he’s doing to the Republican Party, but I don’t want him defeated any way other than at the ballot box.

from what I can tell from the morning news, the greater Pittsburgh still has a lot of violence. It is getting out of hand
It is sad that people feel they must do something violent. Why can't we all love one another?

Do you seriously think that shooter would have just quit shooting if the Secret Service had not stopped him?

Trump may have been nicked by flying glass from a podium or screen. Or maybe it was a bullet or bullet fragment. I'm sure will find out all the details. There is no excuse for shooting at or near people like this. I wonder what we will learn about the shooter. I always suspect mental illness in cases like this. The JFK thing flashed into my head as well.

@TheHorse They found Bomb making stuff in his car and where he lived. Someone said he was affiliated with Antifa...but the news hasn't said anything, but they probably wouldn't.

I too do not wish harm on Trump or Biden...But to what you said about Jan 6th...No idea where you are getting your information, but you really need to find a better place to get it. He had the National Guard waiting, but PELOSI said NO..the Capitol police wanted the National Guard, and She said NO..so did the Mayor of DC. Apparently you have not seen ALL the footage of Jan 6fh and the AGENTS that were in the crowd..pushing people to break into the capitol. You might not like Trump, But I am worse off today than I ever was under Trump.
ALSO...the News Media brought tonight's event into being...saying...Looks like the only way to beat Trump is put him in jail or Take him OUT! That should NEVER be said on TV! People are crazy now days!

@NJChicaa Yes, he started the Protest..he Did NOT tell them to go an do what they did. There were people who infiltrated the protest and riled them up and yelled to go to the Capitol. That is where it all went wrong...the police opened the gates..let them in...no one really tried to stop them. There are videos od protesters yelling at riot armed police asking them to DO Something, and they just stand there doing nothing! It was all set up to make Trump look bad...for SURE. There were Hours and Hours of videos and now ALL those videos and witness reports have been deleted. Once there appeared facts that there were FBI agents amidst the crowd...everything disappeared. And NOTHING about the bombs they found at the Rep and Dem offices..still today!

Ohhhh my god! Just checked out the news. And it was a bit shocking to read that. Violence isn't the answer. It doesn't look good to read such news. Yes, we may differ on the policies. Their and our views wouldn't match. But that doesn't mean there are such ways out. Really it's sad. I hope the injuries are not too serious.

From the news I read and analyses supposedly this was meant like some kind of warning because they figured if the shooter had wanted to directly hit Trump he could have, I do agree with you no one deserves to be shot,

This doesn't surprise me, all the violence that goes on in our nation. Someone meant to kill him.

If he had not turned his head when he did...it would have hit his temple.

I'm glad Trump wasn't injured badly. I would never wish that on anyone. I read about the attempt this morning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
