House Gremlins Run Amok

There are house gremlins that run amok here. They are invisible and you never hear them but we know they are there. First, we noticed missing forks, now it is bowls. Why would a gremlin need dishes? A brand new disk disappeared right after I opened it and a day later showed up exactly where I left it after searching multiple times. The electricity here keeps going off and on. The internet is weird, especially on apps. Are the gremlins responsible? The answer is unknown. Do you have gremlins in your place? What do they do? Do you like them or want to get them out of your house?

It's funny how gremlins can move stuff then put it back a few days lately exactly where it was. lol

I cannot figure that out either. I remember when my son stayed with me for a time. We had a check and were going to the bank. The check disappeared. We searched extensively for it. We started at my desk where the check was and fanned out, looking. It just disappeared. Two days later, it was sitting on the desk right where we searched a hundred times.

So, you have gremlins in Australia, too? It is amazing how they get around. What kind of things do they mess with at your house?

@akalinus They move things and sometimes put them in very strange places. They might put the salt in the fridge and the butter in the cupboard. They're very naughty.

Mine seem to steal silverware! They must have a whole set by now!

What is it with silverware/flatware? Why do spoons disappear and why forks and knives? Who or what takes them and where are they now?

I have gremlins, I don´t like them but I don´t know how to shoo them away. I used to have a wonderful (and expensive) silverware set. Now there are hardly half the teaspoons. And the smaller coffeespoons have just disappeared. I could name a thousand things. But the worst is when they start to play with my things. They pick them up, the place it elsewhere or they hide it for some time until I almost give up.

I hear you. I always had trouble with dishes, especially spoons disappearing. Some ended up in the yard for creating mud pies.Others just disappeared for no known reason.

Sometimes I think we do. They typically knock things over.

@BearArtistLady so you have crafty gremlins, great artist spirits. LOL. They seem to like a little mischief too. So, you still make teddy bears?

I have several. They're really attracted to my craft supplies. They'll use them and then put them back, but not where they got them from. They also nest in my cut-out bears that are waiting to be sewn together. The avoid my dishes and silverware because they know if they use it they have to wash it. Oh, and they love crawling in the freezer when it gets hot, but they don't close the freezer door all the way and the fridge runs extra long just to keep them cool. They also love letting flies in for Freya to chase. She'll chase them all night if given the chance. Then the poor thing will collapse in a heap and snooze through the day. I can pick her up and move her and all she'll do is purr.

Interesting that you should ask that. I wonder about this place sometimes. The cats go berserk trying to climb up a wall while yowling and screaming. The walls are cement, so not good for climbing. Why do they do that? I never see anything there. I even take photos and there is nothing unusual in them.

@LindaOHio The cats seem tuned in to something I don't see or understand. I would love to know why they try to climb certain walls. Nothing up there, not even a spider.

I do have gremlins at times. Very annoying!! They drink all my coffee, and they must be siphoning the gas from my car, so they surely have a way to open the garage.

They probably live in your garage. They exist on caffeine and gas fumes. At least, they don't raid your fridge during midnight excursions, or do they?

@MarieCoyle What do gremlins eat? Do you ever notice missing food or groceries?

@akalinus No, I haven’t had the gremlins raid the fridge yet. But I do think they get in there sometimes and rearrange the contents!!

Do the things ever reappear? Do you search and not find them until the gremlins feel like returning them?

They can be exasperating to the max. They always strike when I need something done now and then it all goes bluey.
