Embracing Diversity

In these divisive times, we should celebrate what unites us instead of judging another person's patriotism by party affiliation or symbols like "Old Glory" (our flag) on our clothes. Patriotism is about our united commitment to making America a better place for everyone who lives here or visits. And it is also not nationalistic or exclusionary. We may have different opinions about how to accomplish things. But our love for this nation brings us together, especially during tragic or challenging times (such as when a governor or the president declares a state of emergency). We forget what the pundits, commentators, journalists, celebrities, and politicians tell us in newspapers and magazines, online, on television and radio then, and unite for the good of all. And we can and should do that every day because when we join hands and work together as one, our country thrives, and our shared values shine. Let's also remember we are Americans first - not Democrats or Republicans, but Americans, and that listening to each other with respect, even when we disagree, is essential for true unity. Our diverse backgrounds and viewpoints are part of what makes our country strong. Let's ignore the noise from pundits and focus on what unites us instead of waiting for emergencies to come for us to shower our neighbors with love. Let's embrace our diversity of views and backgrounds as strengths that enrich our nation instead of being hateful and dismissive simply because of ignorance or disdain for another political party's viewpoints. #Patriotism #Unity #LoveForAmerica #WorkingTogether #EmbraceOurDifferences.

There is too much hate and not enough tolerance and love in this world. Have a good day.
