It really takes two

If Bob and I did not have each other, we likely would not accomplish much. Today he went out and bought a bag of quick crete (concrete) as we decided to use the hole we pulled our old mail box out of to put the new one in. And we decided we had better fill in around it with concrete. Someone tried to sell him a 200 pound bag, and would not listen to what he was saying. When someone who listened and understood finally helped him, he came home with a 60 pound bag, cost less than ten dollars. We probably could have used the 50 pound bag, but that is okay. Neither of us could lift it, but we used the two wheel dolly and took it across the street. We mixed the concrete in an old bucket with water we had carried over. It was a lot of work, a lot of guess work, and the bending and stooping and heat made my headache even worse. When we finished I came in and cooled off, and drank an electrolyte drink. I am much better now than even when I got up this morning. I do not handle the heat well since I got heat exhaustion two years ago. We cooperated and made a nice lunch. Bob is laying down now, and I will join him soon. I got a shower and got all the concrete out from around and under my nails. I get to nap as well before I go give blood. If you are in a warm climate, stay out of the heat and drink plenty of fluids. I will visit more later.

I'm glad it turned out okay and they listened. Sounds like you had quite a day. I don't do well in this heat either.

Today is a little cooler and I am glad. Bob said they were wanting to sell him the whole kit. He kept saying that I already bought one, right there, in their store.

@celticeagle He does not speak loudly, so they may have misunderstood. I am pretty certain they would have remembered me as I was the one who bought the mailbox.

Teamwork works all of the time when dealing with tasks that you and Bob had to deal with.

Yes, it does and it is much better than paying someone to do it.

I bet the mail lady is glad as well. She has been handing it out her window if I am outside, rather than use the old box.

@kaylachan A long time ago they would not do that. I am glad to save her a little when I can.

That quick-curing concrete is really handy. We've used it a lot in our day.

WE have used it before. I thought we could get it in smaller bags, but I could quite well be wrong.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm also glad you got the mailbox taken care of. A nap is always good. Have a great day.

It was a good day. Bob and I both have sore muscles, but that just proves we are alive, I guess.

The people there are good, they just get something set in their mind and you have to convince them otherwise.

Yes, ma’am. With the 100 plus heat the next few days it’s going to be pretty awful for a lot of people.

We are going to hit a slight cooling trend this week. In my mind we always have extended heat spells in July.

Eating fruits and vegetables also will help you stay hydrated.
