Ellen DeGeneres did a Netflix special recently. After that, she made the statement that she was done and wasn't going to do standup anymore. She has for about 20 years been on the air. I used to watch her show every day but after hearing some negative things about her being mean to people and such I quit. She returned to stand-up a couple of years ago and in July 2024 did her last show in Santa Rosa, California. She says she isn't mean and isn't happy with the backlash she has gotten. She is accused of creating an unhealthy and toxic work environment on her show. This comes from some anonymous former and current staffers in a report that was published by BuzzFeed News. Claims include being penalized for taking medical leave, racial microaggressions, fear of retribution for raising the complaints and there has even been alleged sexual misconduct and harassment that involved top producers of The Ellen Show. These people claim that Ellen's "be kind" attitude is just for show.
Three of the show's top producers have parted ways with the show after an internal investigation by WarnerMedia which is a Warner Brothers spokesperson to PEOPLE.
DeGeneres's talk slow aired in 2003 and the final episode was in May 2022. The show earned 64 Daytime Emmys.

I did not see her talk show at all since daytime talk shows these days are not my kind of entertainment.

I liked her very much but never saw her often. I never try to mix the actors or actresses with the character they play. There are lots of actors that are nasty human beings. But that´s the magic of movies and such. They are make believe.

I've never watched Ellen DeGeneres shows or been her fan, at any time. She's wealthy by now.

I can see where they very well could be. I recall how pushy she was with some of her guests. I didn't like it.

It's interesting to see how public perception of Ellen DeGeneres has shifted over time. She was once widely loved for her humor and positivity, but the allegations about the work environment on her show have certainly cast a shadow over her reputation.

That is so true. She used to sort of bug me because she was rather pushy with some of her guests. I enjoyed her human back then but these new allegations have really put a damper on any positive feelings I once had for her.
