15 July - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from a non rainy, hot day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. They have been predicting rain for Green Bay for several days now and we get nada. I'm not unhappy about it as we really don't need it. Today has been good. If you read the morning brief, you know I had a busy morning. I'm thankful I got as much done as I did this morning. It didn't stop with the laundry, cleaning the kitchen, or getting my steps. I'm also thankful I got the dining room table cleaned off and put the drop leaves down and turned the table. The space looks bigger. I'm thankful I worked out on the foot cycle while I watched a very good movie. I wanted to watch a movie I typically wouldn't watch, just to see how it was put together. You know those terrible old science fiction movies? I didn't watch one of those. Instead, another one caught my attention. I didn't realize the cast in it until I saw the names come up at the beginning. It was also based on a true story. The movie was The Perfect Storm with two blockbuster actors - George Cloony and Michael Ironside. Though I didn't recognize him until the end. I don't know if it won awards, but should have. I'm also thankful for the work I did on Guns of War. I'm thankful for the time I spent here with you. It's always fun to see what's going on in your part of the world. This morning I stepped on the scale and wasn't thrilled. I knew I had more calories than usual yesterday, but I also know I ate healthy and single portions of everything. So why the gain? Then I remembered my time in Guam. It is hot and humid there year round. I gained water weight and didn't lose it until I got back to the states. I lost 8 pounds overnight when I got back. It's been hot and humid here for a few days, so I expect it's also water weight and will evaporate as soon as the heat and humidity leave. It's supposed to be better the rest of the week.
