Does anyone have information about a 'puja'?

It’s 3.20 am here. I went to bed about 11pm but was still awake at 1am so I got up and came to join the northern hemisphere myLot community for a while. Vince got up too but has just gone back to bed. I might post this then have another go at going to sleep. Vince has friends in Nepal who recently performed a puja for him. It seems to be some sort of ceremony to bring together positive vibes for his good health. Perhaps some of our Indian friends could enlighten us more. Whatever – it is very good of them to do this for him and we appreciate their kind thoughts. The photo was taken when we attended a Nepalese wedding.

Very pretty bride, I love the art work on her hands. I have no clue what a Puja is, sorry.

Great photo, I think that is wonderful to send him positive vibes. I had some kind of very strange dream and it woke me up and then my head was filled with the dream and it sure took a while to get back to sleep,

It's nice of them to do this for him. We pay the school fees for a young boy over there and they appreciate the help.

I have seen the term before and I feel that it is much the same in purpose as when a Catholic friend has a mass said for you.

That's a very good comparison I think. It's nice he has stayed in touch with people there.

Oh that is a very nice and so commendable act on the part of Vince's friends in Nepal. "Puja" is a big or small ceremony in Hindu religion, where a Brahmin (supposedly of the Highest Caste- The Teacher, Guru/Mentor) whether a person himself (or in some cases herself) or a designated Temple Priest performs a ritual where things are put in a central place where fire is lit, consisting of a series of steps, chanting Mantras for a purpose. So I can imagine one or more Priests gathered by Vince's friends who would have been performing rituals, chanting Mantras for Vince's health. I suppose those friends might have been aware of Vince's date of birth. This is because Birth date is something that the Priest might have asked before starting the Prayers.

I think so too. They were very kind to Vince when he was there and to me too when I went there on his last trip.
