Rainy Day Fencing

Today is another rainy day. We woke up early to prepare for our trip to the lot we bought. Yesterday, we searched junkshops for metal sheets to use as fencing for the lot but couldn’t find any suitable ones. On our way home, my mother and I passed by another junkshop. They had metal sheets for sale, but they were very weak and mostly rusted, so my mother decided not to buy them. She considered using nets and bamboo for the fence, but my uncle said they would be too weak. Eventually, my uncle suggested that my mother buy the metal sheets for fencing despite their poor condition. This morning, before heading to the lot, we bought snacks for my uncle and the worker he hired. When we arrived at the lot, my uncle and the worker were already halfway through with the fencing using the metal sheets and bamboo. The rain made the lot very muddy. Despite the weather, they managed to finish the fencing today. We'll let the ground harden for now. I also drafted an agreement and had our neighbor sign it, as they had encroached 4.5 meters into our lot. They requested until March 2025 to demolish the part of their house that encroached on our newly bought lot.

The front yard of our house is always flooding whenever the heavy rain will come.

That sounds tough! Flooding can be such a hassle. I hope you find a good solution for your front yard. Stay dry!

@cabuyogty That sounds like a smart plan! Maybe you can turn the digging into a fun family activity.

From what you said, "lot" you meant to say a certain space of land, right? Here, we say a "plot" of land. Here we calculate it in multiples of 1000 square feet. This is nearly 33 X 33 feet. All the calculations are based on this area. Where there is more demand, these rates go very high. In metropolitan cities, they are unexpectedly high. And not all can afford it. How much space is your basic calculation based on?

@annierose Hahaha... Annie... I loved you used the word "plot" in our reference. By the way, I have already purchased a "lot", as in your language, I should say. We are thinking of starting our construction, so we can move to a better place and get our house constructed. We can build it in more modern ways as compared to our current old house. By the way, what have you decided to do with your lot of land? Are you just going to keep it, or are you going to start the construction of your new house? Some people purchase a plot of land just as a means of investment. And then they later on sell it when the prices rise.

@abhi_bangal That’s exciting to hear about your plans for construction! Moving to a new place and building a modern home sounds like a great project. As for our lot, we’re planning to build a fence first and then start on the construction of apartment units. It's interesting how different people use land for various purposes, whether for investment or for creating a new home. Best of luck with your construction project!

Yes, by "lot" I meant a piece of land. Here, we also use different measurements, but it’s similar. It’s interesting how terminology and calculations can vary by region. Our lot isn’t very large, but it’s enough for what we need. Land prices can definitely vary a lot based on location. How about in your area? Are you looking to buy or have you already purchased a plot?

Rainy days can be a bit dreary, but it's such a relief when the land really needs it.
