Will I survive tonight's gig?

I have only five students today, and then I have to rush off to the Durt Cheap gig. Well, not rush, but you get the idea. I will be happy once I am seated in a chair (no stool for me today, except for my morning Constitutional) with my bass in my hand. I have only an hour between my last student and being on stage. How is your Thursday shaping up? Photo is on an upright bass I borrowed for a gig a few years ago. Pikachu just climbed up there for the photo op. I'll be on electric bass tonight.

Have fun, and don’t get into any trouble that is not financially beneficial!

Ma'am, I would never sell myself in that way. Except for drinks and tips!

Pikachu is my main man! Well, I like Jigglypuff too, for obvious reasons .

@just4him Sorry. I meant Jugglypuff. She's a funny Pokemon.

I know you will survive . Do you warm up at all before hittin' the stage? This morning my mom and I had a good tai chi session - went to get her a new garden hose - and then had coffee time back at her house with my daughter before picking up my son.

@TheHorse Tai chi is a low impact workout with many health benefits. Perfect for seniors. According to parks and recs here, 50+ is considered "senior" too, so that's why I can go with my mom. I think I would need time to get in the right frame of mind to perform on stage . . . but you're a pro and can probably get right into it.

Yes, I do some casual scales to make sure my fingers are all working.

It went well. My knee was in pain but I sat in a char and did my job well. I actually had fun. And yes, the tacos were good.

Good luck with your playing. Our Irish son played his bass for the first time in a long while at a friend's wedding.

@TheHorse He has a 9-5 admin job now the other side of the country from Mayo so not many opportunities to play jazz gigs, other than weddings. And he got fed up with playing at boozy weddings where no-one is really listening. He is still in the music industry.

Just be careful and take it easy where you can.

I did. When I sensed people just wanted a simple bass line, that is what I did.
