In bengal doubled yolked eggs are as popular as single yolked eggs

In Bengal yolks of eggs are called kusum. In the market both double yolked eggs and single yolked eggs are sold. All are hen's eggs. Both are very popular. The best taste can be derived if they are boiled and eaten or boiled and converted into an egg curry. If they are half boiled then one yold or two yolks will not make any difference.

That’s so interesting! I had no idea that the term for egg yolks in Bengal was “kusum.” It sounds like both single and double yolked eggs have their own special charm. Boiling them or making an egg curry both sound delicious! It’s amazing how something as simple as an egg can be enjoyed in so many ways.

Double yolked eggs don't seem to be sold in the stores here, but if you bought directly from the farmers I am sure you could find some.

They don't sell double-yolked eggs here. They just turn up on their own from time to time.
