How Much Screwier Can Things Get?

After Trump's RNC speech on Thursday, his odds of winning the 2024 Presidential election went from 2/5 on Thursday to 8/15 on Friday. Percentage-wise it went from 71.4% to 65.2%. The guy can't seem to do a speech now without saying that Biden is the worst president we have ever had. Now he also adds that the country will be "bigger, better, bolder, brighter, happier, stronger, freer, greater and more united than ever before."(Yah, right) And he still makes the comment about the fictional serial killer "the late great Hannibal Lecter". What does he even have to do with the campaign? He was still sporting the overly large bandage on his ear. He also kissed the helmet of the firemen who died at the rally in Butler on Saturday while giving a minute-by-minute account of what happened. There were such comments on X as "Sometimes it seems like both parties are trying to throw the election." And it does. I think there is still one more debate in September. I hope Trump doesn't try to weasel out of it and that Biden does much better. That is all we can hope for. Vote blue for democracy. You can read the transcript of Project 2025 at the URL below:

I only listened to the part where he talked about the incident, I thought it was pretty good and I don't cheer for any of the two candidates so I'm quite unbiased. Sure, he spoke to his people, telling them what they wanted to hear, mentioning God more times than a Pastor would. But if you ignore the rockstar's gimmicks to rally the crowd, it was actually nice. I even felt for him, he definitely looks traumatized, the way he kept on tilting his head and his face looked different, it all seemed genuine. You may argue he's a bit of a demagogue, but that's what works apparently. I wish the Dems had better chances because the Reps have a huge advantage now, but the more time passes, the more I'm convinced they should find another candidate.

I think both should. But, as I've said several times if we will just vote for democracy this time even though he may be old then we may have a chance to vote for a younger Democrat in the next election. But, if people vote for Trump in the 2024 election we may never have a chance to vote again.

@sabtraversa ......If you follow the URL I provided you can read a lot about Project 2025. Trump wants to abolish the FBI and the education and commerce departments. He wants to gather up his enemies(newscasters and others) and put them in prison. He wants to rule the country as a fascist regime. Very scary.

@celticeagle I see, I might be more optimistic than that. Can you tell me more about the threat to democracy?

I can only take so much of this crudola. I am not looking forward to November. I also wonder how long it will take before we know the outcome of that election? T. Butt is a buffoon. I am distressed at the lack of literacy in this country.

I can't stand listening to the blow-hard. I don't look forward to November either. It is going to be so close. I hope people will give Biden one more chance. Yes, literacy and common sense.

@sallypup ..........Biden is fine. Listen to his speeches. I think he has another run in him. His wife is even out speaking in his defense.

@celticeagle I am really worried about Biden. I think we need somebody else BUT no to Trump butt. Even in my local elections I am not voting Republican. Not this time around.

I don't know that much about politics. It might be best to get some new blood in both parties? How does that work? I remember when Trump was center stage and got to be leader of his party. Who decides to have leadership conventions? Is the party themselves and how does that happen? Perhaps the parties themselves could use some fresh ideas so as to start something new and less toxic?
