Update on Dixie´s health.

I called Dixie but she wasn´t home. So I talked Humberto. And as I thought, there is a way of doing a procedure on Dixie´s leg without having to use complete anesthesia. Humberto told me that I was the only person he knew that preferred total anesthesia instead of a local one and I had to explain. Once my husband needed surgery because he had a big haernia. And both doctors were fans of my husband´s soccer team. So the put local anesthesia and while they cut and sewed, they talked with him about football (soccer). After that I decided that I would never accept that for me. And when I had a histerectomy, the doctors wanted to cut me up with local anesthesia. Luckily Humberto came and I told him to tell the other doctors that if they did not put me to sleep I´d walk out. But most of the rest of the people prefer local anesthesia. So Dixie might have her procedure with no harm to her heart. When Humberto told me the latest news I said that even I could have suggested that although I´m no doctor. After all, a led is just a leg and what doctors want to do is a minor thing. I´m very happy for her.

Now the leg hurts a lot when she walks. I´m glad that Humberto could explain to me that all the procedure could be a minor one. But the first doctors she saw wanted to do surgery with total anesthesia and her heart would not resist it.

@marguicha I see what you saying more about her heart than her leg. It is true for surgery the better you can fight things off the more likely surgery will be successful. I am sure it will be fine if doctor is confident. I hope all goes the way its planned

@crossbones27 She has mayor heart problems That´s why everty procedure is more dangerous than if she had a normal heart. She has had open heart surgery twice.

Today Dixie called me again. It seems that the procedure will be done with a local anesthesic. I´m very happy!

@marguicha I hope it all goes well for her. It seems it's rather hard to get Dixie to slow down her pace...I hope she does if she needs to.

I think the logic goes that a minor surgery needs local anesthesia. A painful, vital part(s) or a bigger surgery needs a general anesthesia else the patient might be in a big discomfort. I hope Dixie comes out well from the situation.

With a local anesthetic, Dixie won't feel a thing. Then, she will be on a pain medication for a while. A Win/Win situation for Dixie!

The best part is that a local anesthetic won´t harm her heart. Her heart has been a complete mess for decades.

@marguicha It would be dangerous to put her under. Dixie's heart would be affected by this.

It's good that Dixie's husband is a doctor. Hopefully she can have the operation done soon.

I don't think I would care for a local anesthetic. I'm glad they are using a local for Dixie. Have a good day.
