Day 185 – Witnesses Deuteronomy 19:1 “When JEHOVAH your Elohiym cuts off the nations whose land JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you, and you dispossess them and dwell in their cities and in their houses, 2 you will separate three cities for yourself in the middle of your land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you to possess. 3 You will prepare roads for yourself and divide into three parts the territory of your land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you to inherit, that any manslayer may flee there. 4 This is the case of the manslayer who flees there, that he may live: Whoever kills his neighbor unintentionally, not having hated him in time past— 5 as when a man goes to the woods with his neighbor to cut timber, and his hand swings a stroke with the ax to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle and strikes his neighbor so that he dies—he will flee to one of these cities and live; 6 lest the avenger of blood, while his anger is hot, pursue the manslayer and overtake him, because the way is long, and kill him, though he was not deserving of death, since he did not hate the victim in time past. 7 Therefore, I command you, saying, ‘You will separate three cities for yourself.’ 8 “Now if JEHOVAH your Elohiym enlarges your territory, as He swore to your fathers, and gives you the land which He promised to give to your fathers, 9 and if you keep these commandments and do them, which I command you today, to love JEHOVAH your Elohiym and to walk always in His ways, then you will add three more cities for yourself besides these three, 10 lest innocent blood be shed in the middle of your land which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you as an inheritance, and thus guilt of bloodshed be upon you. 11 “However, if anyone hates his neighbor, lies in wait for him, rises against him and strikes him mortally, so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities, 12 then the elders of his city will send and bring him from there, and deliver him over to the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. 13 Your eye will not pity him, but you will put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with you. 14 “You will not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which the men of old have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you to possess. 15 “One witness will not rise against a man concerning any iniquity or any sin he commits; by the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter will be established. 16 If a false witness rises against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing, 17 then both men in the controversy will stand before JEHOVAH, before the priests and the judges who serve in those days. 18 The judges will make careful inquiry, and indeed, if the witness is a false witness, who has testified falsely against his brother, 19 then you will do to him as he thought to have done to his brother; you will put away the evil from among you. 20 Those who remain will hear and fear, and hereafter they will not again commit such evil among you. 21 Your eye will not show pity; life will be for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Supreme God Yeshuwa – Jesus Iesous – Jesus Christos – Anointed One, Messiah Theos – Supreme Divinity Hagios Pneuma – Sacred, Holy, Breath, Spirit Pater – Father Logos – Divine Expression, Word God’s character: Merciful Judge Accidents happen and people die. In a court of law, the judge and jury determine the guilt or innocence of the person who killed another person. If the court deems it an accident, the person goes free. JEHOVAH set apart three cities for an innocent person to flee to when an accident occurred so the innocent person wouldn’t die at the hand of the avenger. However, if the person intended harm to the other, he would stand before the judge and be found guilty and die. Moses also told the people they were not to remove landmarks from their neighbor’s property. It showed the boundaries of the property. Moses told the people two witnesses were needed to prove a man’s guilt or innocence. If false witnesses came forward, they would receive the punishment they hoped to find against the person they accused falsely. Only by the word of two witnesses would a person be punished or set free. When you accepted Yeshuwa, JEHOVAH’S Son, as Savior and Lord, you became Satan’s enemy. Satan stands against you to accuse you of every sin you committed from the moment you were born. When Yeshuwa died for your sin, you have three witnesses: the Pater, Logos, and Hagios Pneuma. 1 John 5:6 This is He who came by water and blood—Iesous Christos; not only by water, but by water and blood. It is the Pneuma who bears witness, because the Pneuma is truth. 7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Pater, the Logos, and the Hagios Pneuma; and these three are one. 8 There are three that bear witness on earth: the Pneuma, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of Theos is greater; for this is the witness of Theos which He testified of His Son. You have no greater witnesses to proclaim your innocence than what Yeshuwa provided on the cross. He took your sin, nailed it to the cross and proclaimed you not guilty. Satan cannot come against you. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Your Son to take my sin and proclaim me not guilty before Satan. Let my praise always come before You for what Your Son did for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 21 July 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

I've always wondered about killing an intruder and killing in wars. Neither is an accident. Have a blessed week.

Neither is murder. When you kill an intruder in your home, it's self-defense. When you kill your enemy during a war, it's not considered murder. Have a blessed day.
