We all do purchases. It could for daily needs, some for long term and some for luxury. Interestingly , I used to wonder if a purchase is worth the price. It need to be luxurious items like cars or high end smartphones but could be in clothes . Personally i factor my budget and financial goals against purchases. I do consider the long term usefulness and quality for certain products , For clothes , I check more on the long term usefulness than price or brand. So , how do you decide whether a purchase is worth the price.

If I am using it a lot it is worth the price. If it helps me be healthier it's worth the price.

First it would depend whether it was something I wanted or something I needed. Then it would depend on affordability and budget. I enjoy board games, which can be quite expensive. But I thought about it and realised it is a good investment. Yes, it might cost £40 or £50 or more but it will last a long time, bring pleasure to others as well as myself. There are people who spend that kind of money on sport shirts that they wear for only one season (that, to me, is not worth it). I have spent more on clothes for my children than on clothes for myself for the simple reason that they needed them at the time while I could wait.

Beautifully expressed! We need to evaluate if it is long term or short term and what would we gain long term or the return on investment . Thanks for sharing!
