Nasty surprise this morning, the milk had gone bad! Naturally, I had just poured myself some. Milk going bad is another reason I don't like Dollar General. Instead of being good like a week after the due date their milk always expires on the day of. Good thing I got some of those little creamers for coffee when I was at the outlet yesterday. Have a happy and blessed day.

I haven't had bad milk in a very long time, but that terrible taste remains in my memory. I actually picked up a single serving carton and took a big drink of it, but had to spit it out as it was so terribly spoiled. I have never bought a carton of milk since. I try to buy it only by the bags since then. I hope that the rest of your day is less eventful.

bags? I don't think I have seen those. Most of ours comes in plastic bottles or cartons.

@snowy22315 Bags are the popular way, because of the cost, to buy milk here in Ontario.

I haven't had milk go bad before, but I have run out of milk in the middle of pouring some in my cereal. In those instances, I always reach for the liquid coffee creamer and use that to continue filling up my bowl of cereal. I have never shopped for food/drinks at any of the dollar stores because I can just never bring myself to trust those types of places.

You probably would if you had to drive 8 miles to the grocery store to get a banana or something. Actually, I lied a bit..one of the convenience stores sells bananas for a highly inflated price of course.

@snowy22315 That is true. No matter how rural of an area you live in, there always seems to be a dollar store nearby! lol

Dollar General, where quality is always iffy. But they come in handy!

Oh yeah, I have kind of a love, hate relationship..mostly hate. It was good when we got one out here though..because when you run out of something you don't immediately have to drive 8 miles to the Food Lion, or go to the rip off convenience stores. Milk there is a small fortune. I wish DG had fruit though..and milk that lasts longer than the date marked on the bottle.

I keep meaning to buy some of the long-life milk but I never do.

This doesn't have to be long life milk, but it should be like normal milk and be good a week past the date marked on the carton.

We get a small carton of milk every day with our Meals on Wheels. I save it for our housekeeper's mother as she gives it to her Pomeranian. I don't drink milk anymore. Have a good week.
