Well, that was disappointing

Friend picked me up at 9am and took me out to Short Hills Provincial Park to see Swayze Falls... It was down to a mere trickle, even after all the rain that we had. Didn't look anything like it does in this photo taken by someone else (Mark Harris) that I found on the 'net. It was a nice drive out in the country, though.

That is really sad. I've heard that a lot of rivers and creeks are dwindling. In El Paso we have the Rio Grand River to give us indications of borders between TX & New Mexico & Mexico but it hasn't been Grand in years.

Shorthills Provincial Park brings back a lot of memories. My parents were members of the Bruce Trail Association and we hiked all through there. I don't remember that specific falls at all though. I cycled through the Short Hills all the time even before the park became official. Used to access the region via Fonthill or Effingham. I regularly went to St. John's Conservation Area. Bicycles weren't allowed on the trails there but if you asked the game warden how the fishing was he'd be too busy answering that to stop us.

It is beautiful but the falls wasn't anything like that in reality.
