Today I found out that a woman who made lives on TikTok received enough money to pay her bills and rent. She said that TikTok took 75% of her money. And she still had money to pay her bills. I saw a lot of people who are just dancing and people donate. I think this is weird. Why are people donating to people who dance and won't donate to sick children? I saw videos with sick children and people didn't donate. TikTok can be useful to earn an extra income. Did you know that TokTok takes 75% of your money? I am not sure if this information is true.

You have to pay taxes to earn. So it's not impossible to believe that. Tiktok only pays less than a penny per 1,000 qulified views. So, those who make it big on tiktok are outsorcing. Many of them have murch online stores, or an offline part or full time job. They aren't going to tell you that, though. You need 1,000 followers to go live. You need 10,000 follers to enter the creator found and get paid. Since the target demographic on tiktok are kids, it stands to reason that videos of silly stustupid bs, is going to do better then someone crying about their kid being sick. Because those who see those posts, may not be in the position to do anything.

@dya80dya I've done my research. I'm not going to say there aren't people who do well on the platform, but they are far and few in-between. They are the exception, not the rule. I just don't want someone to get on post one video, and hope they'll make millions off of it.

i wouldn't be suprised they do take that amount and i am glad i'm not a member there. i also heard there is a possible cult behind those people who have good ratings on tiktok. you are right, noone cares about the real world and real people's problems.

I wonder how it works. I understand those Youtubers but I couldn't understand about Instagram and Tiktok users

@dya80dya Power of Followers. This could be the reason why it was often heard that celebrities has fake followers too

Social media has long been a plus and a crutch, IMO. Part of the problem is that MANY of them do not treat this income in a way that works for them ultimately. For one thing, what contributions are they making to Social Security? Unless they form at least an LLC, nothing. What contributions are they making to things like a 401k? Nothing. What kind of saving are they doing to ensure that when the popularity wanes and the money stops they will have something to fall back on? Virtually none.
The money today may be paying the bills, but the financial future they are setting up for themselves is one that I think will have a VERY bad outcome.
