HI Mylot friends. Sorry I've been absent again. I've been beat from work-related stress and anxiety, and then been unwell with possibly GERD from the past week. I'm stopping by from lurkdom to pop in to say hi, and to give you a report of my potential exit from Goodwill. Since my 8-day work vacation (originally 7) starts this weekend, things should be a bit easier for me going forward. And I hope to be active during my vacation too a tiny bit. Here's the latest. Two weeks ago from tomorrow, I met with my new job counselor Raenell for my IPE meeting. Straight out, she asked what I wanted to do. And I told her to work with animals in some capacity. Since I've had osteoarthritis of the neck and Scoliosis for almost a year, I can't be a kennel attendant or work with dogs in some way. So we've came up with a compromise: to be a CSR/front desk associate in a vet clinic, doggy day care/boarding kennel, adoption shelter, etc. Since my vacation almost two months ago, I've already dug into job leads by inquiring about places locally and checking their websites first. Some places I didn't hear back via email and phone. Besides animal-centric places, she wanted me to look at other places. Other than dental/medical, I can't do, since you need to have experience in that field. So I'm up for all ideas and suggestions on where to look. And as for my VR provider, I did ask for Danielle again at Hattie Larlham. Since she knew about my mental and physical struggles for the past year and a half at Goodwill, she would be there for me. And on Friday, she called me to let me know, we're teamed up again. Now, I have to wait to hear back on intake this week. And when we're both back from vacation, we'll get the ball rolling on 8/6/24 to update my resume and apply to jobs. Hopefully I've heard back on intake by Friday, or she'll do it when she returns. I'm still targeting Labor Day Weekend as my exit date, if not earlier or sooner. I promise to pop up later this week, probably toward this weekend, to see what you think. And I'll be back to be partly active sometime soon. Please send prayers and good thoughts your way. I still miss you all.
