This evening turned out to be interesting, but not in a good way. I want to start by saying George is fine. He wasn't injured or anything. I checked him over very carefully.
Ever since George had his stroke, one of our evening routines is to sit on the portch and watch the sun go down. He came in fully intending to change. He got as far as getting his shorts off, and somehow wound up on the floor. According to him, he intentionally slid down when he felt himself falling. So no crash. I went to wash his syringe to do his peg tube, and heard him calling for help. Found him sitting on the floor back against the bed. I got him standing easily enough, and as I said, he's alright. Its incendents like this, as to why I'm never very far from him.
Again, he's okay and we got his tube done. He's lying on the couch watching t.v. with me.

Good to hear that he is fine despite the incident. I can surely say that your patience and care for him is truly amazing. Hope everything is well for the days ahead.

I'm glad he decided to slide down to the floor when he felt himself slipping. He called for help and I was able to hear him. Had I not, I would've checked on him and found him then. He keeps saying I can run erronds and leave him home alone, but no. I can't.

@kaylachan Yes that's right. You have to stay beside or near him. Noboday can tell, what might happen. It's always good to be sure for his safety.

@angelitovillegas I can move around, do things, go into another room or even outside. I just need to be able to hear him.

I´m glad that he is fine and I´m glad that you understood him. Something very similar happened to me 2 years ago but nobody believed me that I had willingly preferred to slide to the floor. Besides not hurting by a fall, it shows that he is capable of solving difficult situations.

@kaylachan I stopped driving when my hands started to tremble. But now, with that magic pill, they don´t tremble much. But I don´t know if I could dare drive again. I haven´t driven a car for years now.

Yes, he is. That's why I am confident he could drive again. Just need a doctor to see it.

That is a good strategy for him to have if he feels himself falling. I am so glad he is alright.

Me, too. And, now he knows why I don't leave the house and him alone.

Me, too. He kept his head. That's what is the most important here.

Thankfully he was able to sit when he felt himself falling. I can understand why you won't leave him alone.

I don't mind staying around the house and I don't follow him like a shadow. But, I won't leave the house.
